Nicole Richie shares rare photo of look-alike daughter Harlow on 18th birthday

Nicole Richie shared a rare photo of her daughter Harlow on her Instagram Stories to celebrate her 18th birthday on Sunday.

Harlow is dressed casually in the photo, wearing a long-sleeve white T-shirt and looking straight at the camera.

She’s also sporting long dark hair as opposed to the blonde locks she’s been photographed with before.

“My favorite person in the world is now 18,” Richie captioned the pic. “Happy birthday. I love you.”

The “Simple Life” alum tagged Harlow’s Instagram account, in which Harlow — whose full name is Harlow Winter Kate Madden — goes by Kate.

Harlow is the eldest child of Richie and her husband Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden.

The couple, who’ve been married since December 2010, also share a son, 16-year-old Sparrow.

Madden gave insight into his marriage with Richie during his appearance on Sirius XM’s “Literally! With Rob Lowe” alongside his twin brother, Benji Madden, in March 2025.

Benji has been married to Cameron Diaz since January 2015.

“We all respect our wives,” Joel, 46, said. “They are absolutely our counterparts and we all have a healthy fear of our wives.”

“I met Nicole and she absolutely runs the show,” he also shared. “But we are partners, so there’s aspects that I run. But there’s a whole part of my life that would not work if she wasn’t there running it.”

Richie, 44, previously shared that she’s fully open with her children about everything she did back in her wild child days, which included frequently getting photographed by paparazzi partying and two DUI incidents.

“I knew before I had them that I was going to have to be transparent with them about who I was,” Richie told Glamour magazine in December 2024. “And I’ve actually found freedom in that.”

“I’ve always been very open and honest with my kids and hope that they are open and honest with me,” she added.
