Nicole Kidman’s model daughter Sunday makes rare public comment about famous family

Nicole Kidman’s family are incredibly close – so don’t mess with them! The Hollywood actress and her co-star, Sandra Bullock, were interviewed by Nicole’s niece, Lucia Hawley, at the end of August ahead of the release of Practical Magic 2, where Nicole and Lucia revealed a few surprising things about their relatives. 

During the interview for SheerLuxe, Lucia and Nicole disclosed that Nicole’s late mother, Janelle Kidman, used to keep a list of names in the freezer, and that their family “sway to the more magical side”. 

The footage was shared on SheerLuxe’s Instagram account, and Nicole’s teen daughter, Sunday Rose, quickly chimed in. “The witches are out,” she wrote. 

In the clip, Nicole’s niece explained: “I don’t know if you know this about the Kidman women, we sway to the more magical side. Some people would say, witches. Grandma was born on Friday the 13th.” Sandra responded: “Oh, it all makes sense now, okay,” as Nicole laughed. 

Nicole then admitted that if she was a “little bit upset with someone, I will write their name and put it in the freezer.” She explained that this was to “freeze them out”. Lucia added: “Grandma used to have a list of names in the ice cube area.” “You can come out of the freezer though,” Nicole added. Sandra then asked: “Do you then let the person know you’re out of the ice?” to which Nicole and Lucia responded: “No.” “They will feel it,” Lucia added.

This was Lucia’s first time interviewing her famous aunt, with whom she is incredibly close. Lucia is Antonia Kidman’s oldest child, and has five younger siblings. 

Antonia shares Lucia, Hamish, James and Sybella with ex-husband Angus Hawley, who passed away in April 2015. She went on to welcome sons Nicholas and Alexander with husband Craig Marran, whom she married in 2010. 

Lucia is following in her mom’s footsteps as a journalist and currently resides in London. The journalist previously opened up about being Nicole’s niece during an interview with Woman’s Day in 2023.

“If that’s the worst thing being said about me, then so be it,” she said. “I would never deny my privilege and I actually, totally hold my hand up and say ‘yeah I’m privileged, I come from a really privileged family and I’m so grateful for the opportunities that have come my way because of it’.” 

She continued: “The only thing I can do is work hard and make an individual name for myself and prove myself.”
