Nick Viall is experimenting with a radical diet.

On the Thursday, Jan. 9, episode of The Viall Files podcast — which covered the Los Angeles wildfires, the Justin Baldoni leaked messages and more — the Bachelor alum, 44, detailed how he plans to achieve his fitness goals by way of a water fast.

“I haven’t eaten in 36 hours, so that’s fun. I started a water fast,” Viall said, mentioning that he got the idea from his mother.

However, he warned against listeners trying it just because he discussed it: “I’m not recommending it to anyone [and] this is not some sort of, ‘Do this with me.’ ”

Viall listed the reasons why the water cleanse, which consists of only water, bone broth or electrolytes for a week, is “supposed to be really healthy.”

“It’s supposed to reduce your chance of cancer, it’s supposed to be good for inflammation, it’s supposed to reduce your chance of Alzheimer’s and things like that,” he said. “It’s supposed to have a lot of health benefits to occasionally fast.”

He began the water cleanse because “I’ve been eating way too much sugar lately these days” and “I think my diet is not where it could be or should be.”

Instead of doing the full week, he would only be participating for four days, but felt inspired: “It’s the new year, I was like, ‘F— it. If my mom can do it, why can’t I?’ ”

Still, he maintained that he had no intention of swaying others to join in.

“Do not take my recommendations,” he said of his “temporary” lifestyle change. “I’m doing this for me. I don’t need feedback from any of you listening, good or bad.”

He also added that the beginning of the water cleanse was the hardest part for him.

“It was a tough first night — and I was fine. I’m delightful right now. Last night sucked hard,” Viall said while thinking about his experience thus far. “They said the first 24 hours are tough and I felt really weak and tired.”

Joy also weighed in, adding that she was a first-hand witness to her husband’s “hangry” ways.

“I’m also suffering because he’s been nothing but a b—- this whole time to me,” she teased.

“He’s the hangriest person I’ve ever been around. He’s so mad, he’s so angry and I’m like, ‘You can stop whenever you f—— want!’ ” she said.

According to Health, “Water fasting may have some benefits, but it also comes with risks. You may develop complications like dehydration, orthostatic hypotension, or hyponatremia. It’s important to not follow a water fast without consulting a healthcare provider first.”
