Nick Lachey just wasn’t a perfect match for Entourage.
The 98 Degrees singer revealed that in the early 2000s, he auditioned for a leading role on the HBO series, following an up and coming actor and his circle of friends, but lost out on the part.
“That show was so groundbreaking,” Nick said on the April 10 episode of the Throwbacks podcast after co-host Jerry Ferrara brought up his own time on the show. “I actually auditioned for that show.”
While Nick didn’t specify who he tried out for, Jerry, 45, who played Turtle on all eight seasons and the 2015 movie, correctly guessed that Nick auditioned to play leading man Vincent Chase, ultimately played by Adrian Grenier. Though he told the Love is Blind co-host that he would have “been a great Vince.”
However, Nick admitted that despite his initial disappointment, the right man got the part.
“It would’ve been a totally different take on the character,” Nick, 51, replied to Jerry and co-host Matt Leinart. “He was perfect.”
He continued, “That show was so iconic in that moment. Everyone loved it.”
