Newly-engaged Princess Alexandra of Hanover sizzles in backless Grace Kelly gown

It has been an exciting week for Princess Alexandra of Hanover, who announced her engagement to her boyfriend of 10-years, Ben-Sylvester Strautmann, last Saturday.

On Friday, the bride-to-be, 27, had another dazzling update for us, the Monagasque royal slipping into a Givenchy dress of dreams, previously worn by her grandmother, Grace Kelly.

The exquisite floor-length gown was created in a beautiful hue of yellow and covered in glittering diamonds. The piece featured an elegant scoop neckline and low-cut back, complete with a flouncy hem at the bottom of the figure-sculpting skirt.

Princess Grace previously wore the gown at the pre-wedding gala of King Juan Carlo and Queen Sofía of Spain in 1962.

“Got to wear my grandmother’s dress from the 60’s,” penned Alexandra on Instagram, adding: “Yellow mood in archival Givenchy.”

Completing her look, Alexandra wore her brunette tresses down and added a gold diamond bracelet.

One of the first to weigh in on her beautiful photo was her close friend and wife of F1 driver Charles Leclerc, Alexandra Leclerc, who replied with three heart-eyes emojis.

Meanwhile, Princess Alessandra of Hanover echoed Alexandra’s sentiments, adding a heart-eyes emoji.

“You look divine,” one follower added. Another penned: “Alexandra, the dress was worn very well. Grace is the happiest; she is looking at you.”

Announcing her incredible milestone last Saturday, writing: “The marriage plot,” alongside eight yellow love heart emojis, to no doubt coordinate with her £150k trillion-cut yellow diamond – which is certainly fit for a princess.

Among the photos from the life-changing moment, the featured snap showed the royal looking more than loved-up with her new fiancé, flashing her ring for the camera.

Alexandra more than nailed her engagement manicure, opting for a Hailey Bieber-style ‘glazed doughnut’ chrome polish, complete with an elegant fine French tip finish. 

Other photos from the special moment saw the Princess elegantly place her left hand on a delicious-looking breakfast spread, as well as sweet snaps of her adorable long-haired sausage dog, Elouise. 

Just hours later, Alexandra shared more playful photos from the special time, showing herself lying on a bed, flashing her dazzling diamond, and again showing the piece off in all its glory as she poured a cup of coffee.
