What to expect from Firebreak
The story centres around Mara (BelĂ©n Cuesta), who after the death of her husband, takes her eight-year-old daughter, Lide (Candela MartĂnez), to their family cabin to get it ready to sell.
Her brother-in-law, Luis (JoaquĂn Furriel); his wife, Elena (Diana GĂłmez); and their son, Dani (Mika Arias) also tag along for the trip, which marks their last chance to say goodbye to the place that Maraâs husband cherished dearly.Â
While Lide is opposed to selling the house, she takes comfort from her motherâs promise that the family will visit some of her dadâs favourite spots before they leave. But when a wildfire breaks out, they are ordered to evacuate.Â
The synopsis continues: âItâs only after the van is loaded that Mara notices Lide is missing. She frantically calls the police, who search for as long as they can before it becomes too dangerous.Â
âDesperate not to lose her daughter right after she lost her husband, Mara makes a risky decision to ignore the evacuation order and search the smoke-filled woods herself. But she soon realizes there may be more to Lideâs disappearance than meets the eye.â
Firebreak is available to stream on Netflix now.
