Netflix viewers stay up until 3 am to binge-watch ‘masterpiece’ police drama Elite Force

You can always count on Netflix for unmissable, high-stakes drama. The platform has an ever-growing library of excellent crime shows, from Dept. Q and Mindhunter to Nemesis – and its latest addition is shaping up to be another must-watch.

The gritty French military drama, Elite Force, premiered on the platform in July, and viewers are hooked. 

Created by Julien Leclercq and Sylvain Caron, the six-part action series follows a high-ranking officer in France’s top-tier police unit who’s forced to return to the field when his team is attacked by a mysterious enemy.

What is Elite Force about? 

The series follows David, a high-ranking officer in France’s elite tactical police unit, GIGN, who is thinking about finally leaving the field. But after a devastating attack strikes his team, he takes back control of his unit.

The synopsis continues: “An invisible enemy, armed with a large stock of stolen military-grade explosives, steps up its attacks and strikes closer and closer to him. David has to hunt them down while protecting Max, his 25-year-old godson and a new recruit to the force, despite the young man’s best efforts to stop him. But as the net starts to close, the enemy digs up a past that David thought he had buried.”
