There’s a house on Bushnell Ave. in South Pasadena, Calif., that was home not just to a family, but also an unforgettable moment in comedy film history.
Jason and Jill are the couple who live in the home used to film the 2003 movie Old School, starring Luke Wilson, Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn and more.
In The House From … — a documentary film by Tommy Avallone and narrated by Jason Lee that looks back at famous houses in TV and film — the couple reflects on that exciting period in their lives.
“It is a little bit strange. The house has an identity of its own that is not one that we’re creating here as a family,” Jason says of his home.
“The owners before us [expanded] the house. They did the filming while they owned the house and they used the money from that film to build our family room and master bedroom,” Jill explains.

“So we are very grateful for the film because we have a master bedroom and bathroom and a family room now, which is in total use all the time with three kids.”
While almost all of the frat house scenes took place there, the Vaseline mud wrestling was shot elsewhere, Jason says.
“The kitchen was very, very, very tiny,” Jill recalls, showing the spots in the kitchen where some of the film’s other action takes place.
Standing on one side of the counter, Jason says, “Right about here is where Frank the Tank funneled some beer, got a little bit excited and decided to go streaking.”
A neighbor from the block recalls, “One day I got back from work and I looked out and said, ‘Wonder what they’re doing.’ And out comes this guy screaming,” he shares of Ferrell.
“I just sat there flabbergasted. He was naked! Everybody at the street was looking at him, smiling, laughing. When they said cut, there were people actually clapping. Nobody got upset.”
