Kai Schreiber, the teenage daughter of Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber, just took to social media to show off her latest bling.
In an Instagram story, the 16-year-old model posted a selfie, sticking her tongue out to show off a brand-new tongue piercing.
The selfie has all the markers of a ‘90s favorite: a scoop-neck tee, a stretchy tattoo choker necklace, smoky, lined eyes and the faint grainy flair of an old digital camera.
Kai is one of many celebrity children who have entered the world of high-fashion modeling.
A few weeks ago, while appearing on an episode of “Today with Jenna & Friends,” Watts admitted that she is becoming “a bit of a momager,” borrowing the phrase from Kris Jenner, mother of her “All’s Fair” co-star Kim Kardashian (who is also an executive producer of their new Ryan Murphy show).
To that, she added, “She’s extra young, but she’s got her head on, so it was a nice way for her to feel pride about what she is doing.”
Kai’s early career is off to a successful start; the 5’11” model walked in shows during New York and Paris Fashion Weeks this past fall.
Last summer, Kai spoke to Interview Magazine about her modeling ambitions, sharing, “I want to be a supermodel. Period. I’ve been practicing my walks in the kitchen for years; my mom can show you all the videos I forced her to film.”
To that, the teen added, “Struggling with gender identity from a young age most likely had something to do with it. I always wanted to grow up and be a beautiful, glamorous, influential woman, like Marilyn [Monroe].”
As for the tongue piercing?
Schreiber is a huge advocate for self-expression, telling Interview, “It’s important to surround yourself with people who know you on a deep level and who treat you well. I used to let people walk all over me, but I’ve learned my worth and distanced myself from them.”
