Sophie Balardo has closed the door on a disturbing chapter of her life.

The N.Y.C. influencer walked past her former West Village apartment in a video shared on TikTok, recounting the unpleasant six months she lived in the “cursed” dwelling as a “PSA” for others looking to live in the area.

“PSA… If you are looking for a West Village apartment, consider this your warning,” she titled the clip, which was uploaded earlier in the year and featured a selfie shot of the content creator standing in front of the housing door.

“I had never been so sick in my entire life,” she said of the time period she lived in the apartment. “Like literally, I think I took six antibiotics in the matter of six months.”

It wasn’t just Balardo who had that problem. She alleges her pal, who also resided in the building, dealt with a similar issue.

“My friend also moved into this building and he moved out within a month because he got so sick,” she continued in the clip.

In addition to the sickness, Balardo also detailed another physical ailment she suffered amid her stay.

“I had random rashes everywhere. It’s cursed, so do not move into this building because you will get so, so, so, so, so, so sick.”

Balardo’s caption, meanwhile, was lengthy.

“Everyone’s immune system can react differently to specific environments, but both my friend and I became very ill living here (we are both healthy individuals). After I moved out, other previous renters in the co-op with similar issues reached out,” she began.

“That said, there are some people who have lived in the building for years (literally forever) and claim they’ve had no problems, so rent at your own risk, haha,” she continued.

In an attempt to share “full transparency,” Balardo listed several factors that made her living situation unenjoyable.

“I also dealt with mice, cockroaches, wasps, and lanternflies, and my rent for the studio was around $3K, plus a broker’s fee…. so, like I said, rent at your own risk,” she wrote, and added a disclaimer, “This is based on my personal experience; take it with a grain of salt.”

The building’s management company did not immediately reply to PEOPLE’s request for comment from Realtor.com.

Balardo’s post garnered thousands of likes and hundreds of comments from users who reacted to her story, with some commenters sharing similar N.Y.C. apartment experiences of their own.

“This happened to me 😢 I lived in 10 downing for two years. I was covered in rashes, I had constant headaches and swelling and have not been the same since,” wrote one user.

“Can we normalize this? Reviews from past residents PLEASE,” commented another.

One TikTok user said she lived in the same apartment as Balardo, claiming she and her partner dealt with similar side effects during their stay.

“I lived there for 5 years. Recently moved. My husband and I got SO sick. Mold toxicity is real,” the user wrote.

Balardo, who has over 22K followers on TikTok, is known for her daily vlog-styled content of her life in N.Y.C. She often creates OOTD videos, city excursions, date stories and country adventures.
