Morrissey backed out of his latest concert due to alleged noise in his hotel.
The âMessages From Morrisseyâ blog on his official website stated that Thursdayâs âscheduled show in Valencia,â Spain, at the Palau de les Arts âhas been rendered impossible due to sleep deprivation.â
âMorrissey drove from Milan to Valencia but has been unable to rest in Valencia due to noise,â the entry continued.
âCircumstances render the show impossible,â the blog read.
Another post described Morrisseyâs hotel as âindescribable hellâ and claimed that âIt will take [him] one year to recover. And that is an understatement.â
Foremost among the âIrish Blood, English Heartâ hitmakerâs complaints was an apparent proliferation of noise.
âHaving travelled for two days by road, Morrissey reached the hotel in Valencia late on Wednesday,â yet another March 12 entry read.
âAny form of sleep or rest throughout the night was impossible due to festival noise / loud techno singing / megaphone announcements.â Morrissey claimed that the âexperience has left [him] in a catatonic state.â
A rep for the singer did not immediately respond to Page Sixâs request for further comment on Thursday.
The 66-year-old singer previously canceled a show in Rancho Mirage, Calif., in January.
âDue to an adverse reaction to a prescription medication, the Morrissey concert originally scheduled on Saturday January 3, 2026 has been postponed,â read a statement at the time, per the Morrissey-Solo site, noting that tickets would be âhonored for a rescheduled date.â
Also in January, the San Diego Civic Theatre announced a Morrissey show was canceled in an Instagram upload featuring the singer.
Morrissey â who released his 14th solo album, âMake Up Is a Lie,â last week â also canceled several shows last year. A Stockholm performance scheduled for June 23 was nixed, with the singer claiming a lack of support.
âThe pain at not reaching Stockholm this week is horrific for the band and crew,â he wrote in a blog post at the time.
âI know itâs impossible for people to understand, but we dream of Stockholm, Reykjavik, Trondheim, Helsinki, Aarhus ⊠but there is no financial support from imaginary record labels to get us to such places.â
He wrote that the band could âbarely seeâ after traveling to six countries. âWe pray to God that someone, somewhere can help us reach Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Denmark ⊠where we have thousands upon thousands of friends, yet absolutely zero music industry support.â
He also canceled shows in Boston and Connecticut in September, per a Facebook announcement.
âIn recent days, there has been a credible threat on Morrisseyâs life,â the Sept. 19 post read, noting that theyâd be canceling the engagement âOut of an abundance of caution for the safety of both the artist and audience.âÂ
