Michelle Trachtenberg’s boyfriend, Jay Cohen, was a “huge support system” for the actress before her sudden death, according to a new report.

“She was still together with her boyfriend, whom she spoke of highly and lovingly. They seemed to have a wonderful relationship,” a source told Us Weekly on Thursday.

A second insider added that Cohen, 63, was a “huge support system” for Trachtenberg as she battled an illness that only those close to her knew about.

Similarly to her relationship with the talent agent and producer, whom she had dated since 2020, the “Gossip Girl” star kept her health issues tightly under wraps before she died Wednesday at age 39.

The Post broke the news that Trachtenberg had been found dead in her New York City apartment.

The New York Police Department told us that the “Harriet the Spy” star was pronounced dead at the scene after her mom, Lana Trachtenberg, discovered her “unconscious and unresponsive” in her bed at approximately 8 a.m.

Sources told The Post that Michelle had recently received a liver transplant, which her body may have rejected. Her cause of death has since been ruled “undetermined” after her family objected to an autopsy for religious reasons.

Despite shutting down concerns about her health on social media just last year, the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” star reportedly had been “really down emotionally” while dealing with undisclosed struggles.

“She told friends she was struggling,” a source told People later Wednesday. “She was really, really sick and open with those in her circle about how much she was struggling.”

Friends noticed Michelle looking “pale, gaunt” and “very thin” leading up to her death, with one confirming that the “Ice Princess” star “knew that death was a high possibility.”

However, it wasn’t just friends and family who were worried and noticed the changes.

Page Six reported that Michelle was spotted having dinner with friends at Italian eatery Sartiano’s in NYC just six days before her death. Fellow diners at the popular Soho establishment were “worried” about the star, who seemed to be “in very bad shape.”

Following her death, former co-stars, including Blake Lively and Sarah Michelle Gellar, paid tribute to Michelle via social media.
