Michelle Obama, 62, just gave fans a peek into her youngest daughter’s personality.
The former First Lady opened up about her 25-year-old daughter Sasha Obama during an episode of her podcast, IMO, with guest Megan Thee Stallion.
“You remind me of Sasha,” the proud mom told the famous rapper, adding: “You and Sasha have similar sass levels. Your energy is so familiar.”
Michelle’s rare insight into Sasha’s personality wasn’t the only piece of information fans of the Obama family learned. Megan, 31, also revealed that she has hung out with the former first daughter.
“I feel like I hung out with Sasha after my Saturday Night Live performance,” the “Savage” singer shared. Megan has performed on the late night show twice – first in October 2020 and again two years later.
© Instagram“Oh probably so!” Michelle chimed in, adding: “Because [my daughters] just show up whenever.”
Megan remembered being shocked when she saw the Secret Service at her SNL after party, recalling to Michelle she told her security: “We’ve got the president’s daughter in here!”
Michelle close relationship with her daughters
Michelle’s revelation about her youngest daughter is just more proof of their close relationship. She has spoken often about her priority of being a good role model to Sasha and Malia.
In January 2026, Michelle explained that a large part of her efforts as a mother centered around teaching her daughters to always place themselves and their own self-worth first, especially above their romantic relationships.
“My husband was president, you know? But in the midst of that, I still managed to be a lawyer, run a non-profit, be an author, I can run down the list,” she said on an episode of Call Her Daddy with Alex Cooper. “I raised really sane kids, who aren’t perfect, but they’re really, really good.”
What is Sasha Obama doing now?
Sasha and her big sister are fiercely private after a lifetime of living in the public eye. The 25-year-old currently lives in Los Angeles with her older sister and graduated from the University of Southern California in 2023 before continuing her education.
In the months after she graduated from USC, Sasha’s name appeared in the credits of the reality series Couples Therapy, leading many to believe she may be considering a career in the entertainment industry like her sister. However, Michelle has since revealed that Sasha has returned to school to further her education.

While Sasha and Malia enjoy their private life, they did make a recent public appearance to honor their dad, Barack Obama. In June 2026, the family stepped out at the opening of the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago.
