Michelle Keegan looks like a goddess after mermaid hair transformation – and tribute to baby Palma

Michelle Keegan’s mermaid hair transformation is the perfect style inspiration this summer. The Fool Me Once star was a glowing goddess with her rich brunette tresses styled out in voluminous waves for a sunny photoshoot, while keeping her daughter Palma close to her heart with a sweet accessory tribute.

Michelle’s long dark locks cascaded out of the picture frame and had a gorgeous, warm golden hue where the sun hit. Celebrity stylist Ben Cooke, who has worked with actresses like Emma Thompson, Bridgerton‘s Nicola Coughlan, and Isla Fisher, as well as Love Island alum Olivia Atwood, brought what he called the “Island girl” hairstyle to life on Thursday. 

The 38-year-old was dressed for the warm weather in a strapless embroidered top, which revealed a heartwarming personalised gold chain necklace with her one-year-old daughter’s first name in cursive. For her glam, Michelle kept a natural appearance with feathered brows and glossy lips. 

Michelle’s hair fell to her waist and looked ombre in more behind-the-scenes photos uploaded to the star’s Instagram Stories. The ends of her hair were coloured a lighter brown, which she showed off in one mid-action picture of her locks swishing to the side as she turned to face the incredible mountainous backdrop.

Michelle’s hair journey

Michelle has long been loyal to team brunette, keeping her natural locks dark shades of chocolate brown with the occasional highlight and different lengths over the years. Since welcoming her daughter last year, Michelle has typically leaned towards lower-maintenance styles.

However, the star switched things up in February with a layered cut resembling Jennifer Aniston’s iconic ’90s ‘Rachel’ style. 

Meaning behind Palma’s name

Michelle welcomed her daughter Palma Elizabeth Wright in March 2025 with her long-term husband, TOWIE star Mark Wright, whom she married in May 2015. Mark opened up about his daughter’s unique name during an appearance on This Morning a month after her birth, and revealed it has nothing to do with the Spanish holiday destination Palma de Mallorca where he and Michelle typically travel to in the summer. 

“We just love the name, Palmer, with an ‘E-R’,” he explained. 

“And then we just liked putting an ‘A’ on it, which is like the way it read. So yeah, we just love the name, really.”
