Meri Brown may be in the dark about Kody Brownâs plans for their shared property, but she does know that her ex-husband feels that sheâs not entitled to an equal cut.
During an all-new episode of Sister Wives on Sunday, Jan 19, Meri talked to her best friend Jenn Sullivan about the unknown status of the Flagstaff, Ariz. property known as Coyote Pass that she shares with Kody, his other ex-wife Janelle Brown, and his remaining wife Robyn Brown.
As the two BFFs sit on the porch of Meriâs home in Parowan, Utah, the subject of an email that was sent to Kody came up â one that Meri initiated to clear the air about whatâs going on with the property.
âYou sent that message to everybody and said, âGuys, we need to talk about the property, we need to do it by this day,â said Sullivan, sparking Meri to open up about the matter.
âI feel like I gave a date of like a week and a half, just to start the conversation,â said Meri. âJanelle responded like, âYeah, Iâd like to start this conversation, too. And he responded saying, âWell, Iâve been talking to all the right people.ââÂ
âYou are the right people!â exclaimed Sullivan with a slight laugh.
âThatâs what I said to him,â replied Meri. âI said âIâm the right people.â So I donât know exactly who heâs talking to and what his plan is, but thatâs really all I know.âÂ
Meri goes on to say that for all she knows, Kody could already be making moves toward selling the property. âLiterally, I have no idea what is happening,â she said.
In a confessional-style clip, Kody chimes in on the matter, saying, âI was really, really nice in that e-mail. I was trying to calm everybody down. I donât know what to do here. Iâm not trying to stall. Iâm just like, âListen, these are ex-wives asking me to do a favor and Iâm tired and I have a lot to do.âÂ
Janelle, who advised Meri to âprotectâ her interests during the Nov. 10 episode of Sister Wives, is in the dark, too. And much like her former sister-wife, she says she wouldnât be surprised if Kody was working on a deal without their knowledge.

âHe could potentially be talking to someone about selling it out from underneath us. I donât know because heâs not communicating,â added Janelle during a confessional clip.
Meri then opened up to Sullivan about another concern of hers. She says that Kody once told her that she would only get two acres of the land because they only share one kid together.
Leon Brown, 29, is Meriâs only child with Kody. Meanwhile, Janelle has six children and Robyn has five.
âHis whole big thing then was I would get two acres,â Meri shared. âHeâs like, âWell, you donât need as much because you donât have as many kids.â â
âYou paid equally. You paid equally. Iâm just really⌠holy crap!â exclaimed Sullivan.Â
Feeling that she is indeed entitled to more, Meri lists out all of the ways sheâs supported the whole family throughout the years, not just by adding to the family funds that went towards the property, but stating that she even helped all the kids with getting into college.
âAnd that money went out to a majority of the kidsâ colleges, but not Leonâs,â noted Sullivan.Â
âNo, not Leonâs. I paid for Leonâs college and it went to the majority of the kidsâ cars, but not Leonâs,â added Meri. âI paid the car payments.â
She added: âI really donât know how much of the family funds actually paid for other kidsâ school or cars, but I know that my kidâs school was not taken care of from the family fund. Kody has actually said this. Because I only have one child, I am not entitled to an equal portion of the property.â
In another confessional clip, Kody brushes off Meriâs claims. âWe had 18 kids to take care of,â he said. âYou know, thatâs just water in the bridge.â
After a few more confessions and accusations, Sullivan says, âMy God, we need to give the attorney a call.â
Coyote Pass has been an ongoing point of contention for the current and former members of the plural couple as their various relationships ended.
The property started with land plots that fit multiple homes, and is where the Browns developed so that they could live close to one another.Â
Meri, Janelle, Robyn and Christine Brown were all in a plural marriage with husband Kody Brown, but three of the Sister Wives patriarchâs marriages imploded within 14 months.
His third wife, Christine, was the first to leave in November 2021. A year later in December 2022, it was revealed that Kody had separated from his second wife, Janelle. His union with first wife Meri was over by January 2023.
Sister Wives airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
