Men Behaving Badly star Leslie Ash has an incredibly famous husband

Men Behaving Badly was one of the most popular sitcoms of the 1990s, and the series made the likes of Martin Clunes, Neil Morrissey and Leslie Ash household names.

The show focused on the antics of Gary Strang (Clunes) and Tony Smart (Morrissey), two middle-aged men who are regularly down at the pub and talking about women. Leslie played Deborah Burton, an attractive woman who moves into the flat above, and becomes the object of desire for both men.

Before appearing on the show, the actress had found fame as Fred Smith in C.A.T.S. Eyes, as well as appearing in the likes of The Gentle Touch, Holding the Fort and Curse of the Pink Panther. The mother-of-two continued to act following the conclusion of the sitcom, which ended in 1998, securing roles in Where the Heart Is, Merseybeat and Holby City.

Leslie’s famous husband

Leslie and Lee married in 1988, four years before she secured her breakout role as Deborah, and the couple are parents to two adult sons, Joe and Max.

Lee, who is the son of former footballer Roy Chapman, is a professional footballer, and while he never played for the national team, he was a club legend, making nearly 600 appearances during his years on the pitch. Lee played as a striker, and played for the likes of Stoke City, Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United.

Leslie has been married to Lee since 1998

He also made 23 appearances for Arsenal, scoring four goals during his tenure at the football club. Overall, the striker scored 202 goals.

After stepping away from football, Lee and Leslie both went into the restaurant business, and the couple own two establishments, So:uk and Teatro Leeds.

Leslie joked about embarrassing her sons when they were children

Speaking to The Sun in 2019, Leslie was asked who the love of her life was, to which she replied: “My husband Lee. We’ve been married for 33 years. We’re in each other’s company all the time and if you can do that with someone, they must be the love of your life.”

She also joked about embarrassing her children. When asked about who she’d want to apologise to in her life, the actress replied: “My kids, for when I’d watch them play football at school wearing a cap and sunglasses. They’d say I was trying to look like a celebrity and make me sit in the car.“
