Months after launching her global coalition, First Lady Melania Trump will convene leaders from 45 nations for Fostering the Future Togetherâs inaugural meeting. The two-day Global Coalition Summit is set to begin at the U.S. Department of State on March 24 and end with a roundtable at the White House on March 25.
âIt is the first time in history that U.S. First Lady is hosting representatives from 45 nations at the White House in a single day,â the Office of the First Lady said in a press release. âThis is unprecedented, and Fostering the Future Togetherâs model further supports First Lady Melania Trumpâs pursuit of action-oriented diplomacy on the global stage.â
The coalitionâs member nations include France, Poland, Panama, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, Lithuania, Nigeria, Paraguay, Saudia Arabia, Aruba, Morocco, Kenya and Israel. In addition to leaders, technology companies like OpenAI, Microsoft, xAI, Meta, Palantir Adobe, Google and Zoom Communications will also be participating in the summit.Â
Mrs. Trump announced the coalition in September on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly. Queen Rania of Jordan and Olena Zelenska, the First Lady of Ukraine, were on hand for the reception in New York City. Â
âIâm establishing Fostering the Future Together, a global coalition of nations committed to [the] well-being of children through the promotion of education, innovation and technology,â Melania said in remarks at the launch event. âFostering the Future Togetherâs mission is to ensure that every child can flourish in the digital era.âÂ
Members of the coalition will include first spouses from around the world. In her documentary Melania, Mrs. Trump was filmed speaking with Franceâs First Lady Brigitte Macron, revealing that her next goal was to establish a coalition and work with âlike-minded leaders.â âWhen we do, I hope you will join me,â Melania said, to which Brigitte replied: âWith pleasure. I go everywhere with you. No problem. Because we are connected on many [subjects].â
Fostering the Future Together builds upon the first ladyâs Be Best platform, which President Donald Trumpâs wife started in 2018 during his first term.
In a world-exclusive earlier this year, Mrs. Trump told HELLO! that she always wants âto advance the position of First Lady.â âBeing First Lady is a unique and impactful role,â Melania told HELLO!. âIt provides an opportunity to shape and influence the nationâs legacy. It is essential to recognise, however, that my contributions will be viewed through many lenses. It is crucial to remain mindful and to strive for a legacy that reflects oneâs true values and intentions.â
