Melania Trump stepped out for an early Valentine’s Day celebration at The Children’s Inn in Bethesda, Maryland on Wednesday, sporting a khaki dress as she did arts and crafts with the children.

The First Lady’s dress fell to her mid-calf and featured long sleeves, a sharp collar and gold buttons falling down the front. She added a large reddish-brown belt to cinch in her waist and completed the look with nude pointed heels.

Melania’s blonde-brown hair fell in subtle waves down her back, and she flashed the white manicure on her nails as she spoke with the children at the non-profit organization.

The Children’s Inn provides residential services and programs to children with rare and serious diseases. Despite the dessert bar being laid out for her visit, the mom of one shared that she doesn’t eat many sweets as “sugar is not that healthy for us”.

Melania’s Valentine’s Day visit comes less than two weeks after the release of her self-titled documentary, which explores the lead-up to her husband’s inauguration in January 2025.

The 55-year-old spoke to HELLO! about her role as First Lady, and how it had changed since Donald Trump’s first term in office. “Being First Lady is a unique and impactful role,” Melania said.

“It provides an opportunity to shape and influence the nation’s legacy. It is essential to recognize, however, that my contributions will be viewed through many lenses. It is crucial to remain mindful and to strive for a legacy that reflects one’s true values and intentions.”

“I always want to advance the position of First Lady,” she continued. “Immediately upon assuming the role again, I worked strategically with Congress to pass new legislation – the Take It Down Act – that will protect America’s children from non-consensual intimate imagery, typically created using AI, then posted on social media.”

“It is undeniable that we have much work to do as a nation to ensure the next generation thrives. Naturally, this begins within our homes.”

Melania’s image has always been defined by her sartorial choices, with the Slovenian native favoring clean lines and sharp tailoring. “I style myself and choose what to wear based on what I feel good in,” she told Elle. “My style has stayed pretty consistent over the years. Her stylist, Hervé Pierre, shared with HELLO! that Melania is confident about her sense of style after years in the spotlight. “She likes tailored suits and sharp lines. She will not start wearing ruffles and floral prints just because she is starting a new chapter,” he explained.

“She gravitates towards strong tailoring, sleek looks and perfect cuts with no fuss. Her style has been consistent for years; there is no reason why she would change it. It will evolve, certainly, but the core of her look will remain in the same vein. She was always confident in her choices – I am just helping her.”
