Melania Trump and her son, Barron Trump, will be living part-time at the White House during her husband Donald Trump’s second presidency.
Melania, 54, shared on “Fox & Friends” Monday that she and the New York University student, 18, plan to divide their time between Washington, DC, New York City and the family’s Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach, Fla.
“I will be in the White House, and when I need to be in New York, I will be in New York. When I need to be in Palm Beach, I will be in Palm Beach,” she said. “But my first priority is, you know, to be a mom, to be a first lady, to be a wife, and once we are in on Jan. 20, you serve the country.”
Nicknamed the “Winter White House,” Mar-a-Lago has been Donald’s primary residence since 2019 after raising Barron at his Trump Tower triplex penthouse in Midtown Manhattan.
Melania noted that Barron, who is enrolled at NYU’s prestigious Stern School of Business, will “come visit” the White House as often as he wants.
The proud mom said the teen can stay over and bring friends whenever he sees fit.
“I feel that children, we have them ’til they are like 18, 19 years old. We teach them, we guide them. and then we give them the wings to fly,” she said.
“And I always respect Barron’s yes and no and what he likes to do, where he would like to be.”
Melania noted that she is much more prepared to move into the White House this time than she was the first time her husband took office in 2017.
“The difference is I know where I will be going. I know the rooms, where we will be living, I know the process,” she explained. “The first time was challenging. We didn’t have much of the information.”
Melania claimed the “previous administration” did not share the information they needed before moving in last time, referring to former President Barack Obama.
“But this time I have everything. I have the plans, I could move in, I already packed, I already selected, you know, the furniture that needs to go in. So it’s a very different transition this time, second time around,” she said.
The former and future FLOTUS admitted she will make “a little bit” of changes to the decor but “not much” since the last time she moved into the President’s Palace.
Melania said that on Jan. 20 the transition team will have just five hours to move current President Biden’s belongings out of the White House and her family’s possessions in.
“So everything needs to be planned to the minute,” she shared.
