Meet the grown-up children of the Miami Vice cast — including Don Johnson’s Hollywood superstar daughter

Jesse Johnson was born in 1982 and has followed in father Don Johnson’s footsteps, as well as continuing mother Patti D’Arbanville’s acting legacy.

He debuted on screen while still a teenager with a small role in Don’s series Nash Bridges and has since appeared on Hawaii Five-0, Twin Peaks and Grey’s Anatomy.

Miami Vice co-lead Don Johnson has some seriously talented kids, and Dakota is likely the most famous of the lot. She was born to Don and then-wife Melanie Griffith in 1989.

Dakota is best-known for her roles in Fifty Shades of Grey, Materialists, Madame Web and upcoming Colleen Hoover book adaptation Verity. She’s currently dating American musician Role Model.

In 1999, Don welcomed his first child with wife Kelley Phleger: daughter Atherton Grace. Known simply as Grace, she’s a successful model and made her runway debut in 2019, the same year she joined sister Dakota at the Met Gala.

Since then, she’s appeared on the cover of Bello magazine and walked for Gucci in 2021. She’s also been featured in the Goop x Banana Republic campaign and appeared in brother Jesse’s ‘Headcase’ music video.

Don’s youngest children, both welcomed with Phleger, are still finding their own paths. Jasper was born in 2002 and graduated from high school in 2021. He reportedly hoped to study business at college.

Younger brother Deacon James was born in 2006 and in 2023 began his senior year of high school. Mum Kelley posted a picture to commemorate the moment, revealing that Deacon has hopes of becoming an astronaut.

Philip Michael Thomas reportedly has 11 biological children from five different relationships, though most of them keep out of the public eye. His son Sacred is an exception, regularly posting content on The Sacred Thomas Podcast. 

Philip welcomed his first daughter, Sacha, with his first wife Pat Thomas and daughter Krishna with Merria Ross. He also fathered Melody and India with Sheila Dewindt; Chayenne and Gabriel with Dhaima Matthews; and Imaj, Sovereign, Sacred, Kharisma and Noble with Kassandra Thomas. Philip also has a step-daughter, Monica.

While Edward James Olmos’ two daughters Daniella and Tamika largely live life away from the spotlight, his other four children have embraced showbiz careers.

Edward welcomed son Mico in 1972. He’s worked across music, screen and the production booth on several projects, and is best known for Testament, Filly Brown and Splinter. 

Son Bodie was born to Edward and his first wife Kaija in 1975. He first appeared on screen at 7 years old in The Ballad of Gregorio Cortez (1982).

The actor is best known for roles on Battlestar Galactica, American Family and a film appearance in Stand and Deliver. 

Edward adopted Michael D. Olmos with then-wife Kaija, who has gone on to become a successful director, as well as taking on a few acting roles in The Neighborhood and Below the Belt. 

Michael is best known for having directed projects like Filly Brown, Windows on the World and Green Ghost and the Masters of the Stone. 

Brandon Olmos is Edward’s adopted son and has worked with Olmos Productions on several films and documentaries, earning an IMAGEN Award in 2000 for a co-production credit alongside his father.

He’s worked with ABC Disney and has credits as a post audio supervisor, sound engineer and mixer on more than 40 film and TV projects.

Dennis Farina has welcomed three children but it’s son Joe who has carried on his acting legacy. Born in 1972, he first appeared on screen in 2005 in short film Tough Times. 

His most recent roles include credits on Chicago Fire, Paranormal Island and short film Consequences. He’s also credited on comedy 3 Squares which follows three actresses looking for their big break.
