Since their nuptials in 1998, supermodel Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber have welcomed one son and one daughter — the late Presley Gerber, and actress Kaia Gerber.
The proud parents have gushed over their children throughout the years, with the iconic ’90s model once detailing that her children each have distinct personalities.
“My son is more like Rande and my daughter’s definitely more me,” said in a 2012 interview, per the Mirror.
She also shared how she’s kept her kids grounded amid the superficially based world of modeling.
“Kids don’t always listen, but they are always watching what you do,” she told Town & Country in 2018.
“If you’re polite to people, they learn to be polite. If you make family time a priority, they don’t even question spending time together.”
She added, “If I’m constantly berating myself in front of them — I look old, I have more wrinkles every year, I can’t have that dessert because I’ll get fat — then they learn to do the same thing. You lead by example.”
Amid news of the death of Crawford’s eldest child, Presley, at the age of 27 on Sept. 20, here’s everything to know about the legendary model’s two children.
Presley Walker Gerber
Presley Walker Gerber was born July 2, 1999 in Los Angeles. And according to his mom, he was always “more like” his father, Rande.
Comparing Presley to daughter Kaia — who “likes school and cares” — she divulged, “School [for Presley] is something to be tolerated for the PE, break time and his friends.”
During his life, Presley pursued his mother’s line of work in modeling, working with iconic fashion houses like Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana and Tommy Hilfiger, among others.
He graduated from Malibu High School back in 2017, with Rande gushing over his son in a social media post.
“So proud of my boy. Graduation from Malibu High and now it’s time to…,” Rande captioned a pic with his son at the time.
Two years later, at the age of 19, Presley was arrested by the Beverly Hills police department for DUI after failing a field sobriety test in December 2018.
The model was ultimately sentenced to three years of probation and ordered to complete a DUI program and two days of community service after pleading no contest to the misdemeanor charge.
In 2023, Presley began speaking out about his battle with “mental health, depression and some other things that come along with that,” telling “Studio 22” podcast listeners that he wanted to “help people, whether you’re depressed, [or] you’re struggling with something that is having a negative effect on your body.”
In 2024, per The List, Presley revealed via social media that he was facing a “current, very high opioid addiction,” that he’d been “on and off” the drugs for “years now,” and that he was “letting everyone know so there’s some accountability in this situation.”
That same year, he began sharing updates on his journey via “Mental Health Mondays” on social media. He subsequently revealed in December 2025 that he’d been on medications for “panic attacks,” including valium and Xanax, and that he’d also been on buprenorphine.
On Sunday, Sept. 20, 2026, news broke that he’d died at the age of 27 of a suspected overdose while in a Los Angeles rehab facility.
“The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time,” his relatives said in a statement.
By all accounts, Presley was close to his family, and particularly close to his sole sibling.
“We’re a close family, especially me and my sister, so it’s definitely cool,” he told People in 2018. “We get to travel together half of the time, so it makes it a lot less lonely.”
Crawford, too, reflected on their bond in comments to the outlet in May. “Nothing makes, I think, a parent prouder than when your kids like each other and love each other,” she said.
Kaia Jordan Gerber
The couple’s second child, Kaia Jordan Gerber, was born in Los Angeles on Sept. 3, 2001. A mirror image of her famous mother, she began modeling at the age of 10 and has since appeared in campaigns for fashion houses including YSL Beauty, Chrome Hearts and more.
She’s also been known to grace the cover of Vogue, and walked runways for Chanel, Prada, Versace and Givenchy, among many others.
In recent years, Kaia has branched out into acting, with high-profile roles in “The Shards” and “Mother Mary” in 2026, and prior to that, “Palm Royale” in 2024.
Crawford revealed in a 2018 interview that her daughter showed early signs of an aptitude for modeling.
“When she was little, about 7 years old — she would play dress-up in Mom’s clothes, and I would do her hair and makeup and we would play photo shoot or runway show,” she divulged to Town & Country at the time.
“I would be shooting the pictures, and I’d be like, ‘No, put your chin up,’ or ‘Hold your arm out like that.’ Probably a little of it stuck.”
Kaia herself once revealed that the similarities with her mother go beyond the surface.
“It’s not even just the way that we look alike,” she told ET in 2017. “We have the same mannerisms… just like, the way we react to certain situations is the same — and I think that’s where it really shines through how much alike we are.”
She’s also confirmed in a number of ways how close she was to her brother — Presley got a tattoo of his sister’s name on his left tricep in 2018, and Kaia had his nickname, “Prez,” tattooed on her upper shoulder and his birth year, 1999, tattooed on her ankle.
A month prior to Presley’s death, Kaia shared her pride for her brother as he spoke publicly about his battle with addiction. She told Vogue at the time that her brother was the “greatest teacher” for showing that “there’s only so much you can hide from the world.”
