Meet Jude Law’s blended family – including very famous footballer

Jude Law’s blended family is made up of some big names – including a well-known professional athlete. The Black Rabbit actor, 53, has welcomed seven children from across his various relationships, and among the youngest of his brood is an 11-year-old daughter who not only has a famous dad but has a former Arsenal football player as her stepfather. 

Jude has a daughter named Ada with his ex, singer-songwriter Catherine Harding, with whom he was in a relationship for approximately seven months. The couple had already called it quits by the time they welcomed, Ada, their only child together, in March 2015. A decade later, Cat tied the knot with professional footballer, Jorginho, who recently drew attention to an ‘upsetting’ celebrity encounter his stepdaughter had during a family trip to Brazil.

On 21 March, Jorgingo claimed his family had a “very upsetting situation” while in São Paulo for the annual Lollapalooza music festival, where his stepdaughter was excited to see pop star Chappell Roan perform. In a post shared with his 4.9 million Instagram followers, Jorginho said his daughter had simply walked past the Grammy Award-winning singer’s table at breakfast to confirm it was in fact her before alleging the singer’s security came over and left Ada “in tears” after “speaking in an extremely aggressive manner to both my wife and my daughter”.

Who is Jorginho? 

Jorginho, 34, was born in Brazil and has represented the Italian national football team and played for Chelsea and Arsenal in the UK. Before meeting his current wife, Cat, the footballer was married to Natalia Leteri from 2017 to 2019, and the pair welcomed two children, a son named Vitor and a daughter called Alicia.

He then found love with Jude Law’s ex and welcomed a son named Jax with her in August 2020. Jorginho officially took on the role of stepfather to Cat and Jude’s daughter Ada in June 2025 when he and Cat tied the knot in a breathtaking wedding on the banks of Italy’s Lake Como, which HELLO! exclusively covered. 

Ada’s ‘absolutely incredible’ relationship with her stepfather

Catherine and Jorginho first gave viewers a glimpse inside their blended family life in 2024 on the Amazon Prime series, Married to the Game. Catherine, who starred on The Voice UK, opened up to HELLO! exclusively ahead of the series about her then-fiancé and daughter’s dynamic, revealing that Ada and Jorginho’s relationship is “absolutely incredible”. 

“I think patience is one of the keywords because things don’t happen overnight it wasn’t a couple of weeks, and then all of a sudden she’s like: ‘I love Jay’,” she told us at the time.

“It doesn’t work like that. It’s like a long process of them getting to know someone and, you know, trusting, starting to trust that person. But when it’s when it’s good, it’s amazing. Their relationship now is just absolutely incredible but it took time and he was super patient with her to build that trust, to take that time to get to know her, because she’s quite reserved in that way as well.”

Cat revealed that Ada is a lot like her stepfather. “She’s quiet with her emotions and everything like that. So she likes to look at stuff. Sometimes I think, ‘Oh my God, she’s more like Jay than she is me’, even though she’s obviously not biologically his I’m like, ‘Why is she so like you?'” she said.

She continued: “He was just super respectful for that and I think that’s one of the key things. Time and patience and building trust and then things will all come together. You can’t do it overnight.”

Cat revealed that her daughter was “so happy” and had cried when she found out Jorginho had proposed to her mother. 

“That was what she wanted for Christmas because she really wanted us to get married and she kept asking him:  ‘When are you going to ask Mummy to marry you?’ So he had her on his case.  He wanted to get her involved, but he was scared that she would give it away, so he didn’t.”

Ada and her stepsister, Alicia, were flower girls at the Italian wedding, and during her vows, Cat thanked Jorgingo for caring for her daughter.

Jorginho stands up for Ada

In his lengthy Instagram Story message on Saturday, Jorginho claimed his daughter Ada “didn’t say anything, didn’t ask for anything” when she walked past Chappell Roan’s table, after which he alleged a “large security guard” had come over to the table.

“He even said he would file a complaint against them with the hotel, while my 11-year-old daughter was sitting there in tears,” the footballer claimed. “My daughter was extremely shaken and cried a lot.”

Chappell, whose real name is Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, later addressed the situation in a video posted to her Instagram Story, claiming the security guard was not part of her team. “I did not ask the security guard to go up to this mother and child,” the ‘Pink Pony Club’ singer said. It’s unfair for security to just assume someone doesn’t have good intentions, when they don’t have reason to believe, because there’s no action even taken.”
