Meet Jamie Dornan’s 3 daughters he shields from the spotlight

Jamie Dornan continues to entertain audiences since he shot to fame in the 50 Shades of Grey franchise, with major roles in the likes of Belfast and The Tourist.

Away from his life as an A-list actor, the star is happily married to fellow thespian Amelia Warner, and the couple have welcomed three daughters, Dulcie, 12, Elva, 10, and Alberta, seven.

The couple often keep their three daughters out of the spotlight, but over the years, they have shared several adorable photos of their brood, including from beach trips to festive snaps.

Jamie has loved being a father, and speaking to the Sunday Times back in 2018, the 43-year-old said: “Being a dad is the best. I feel a healthy and lovely duty to provide for my kids, and I really like it. It suits me. Making my kids happy is a good thing for my wife and me to be driven by.”

And during an appearance on American daytime TV show, Today with Hoda & Jenna, he expressed his joy at being a girl dad. “Three girls, I don’t know how I’d be as a boy dad,” he told the two presenters.

“I’m not sure I could deal with the energy. I’m someone who has a lot of energy anyway, I’m quite hyper often. We wouldn’t cope if there were three hyper boys in the house.”

Jamie and Amelia’s children

Jamie and Amelia became parents for the first time back in 2013, when they welcomed Dulcie. The couple confirmed that they were expecting just two months after they married, back in April 2013, and Dulcie’s arrival came when Jamie was filming the first entry in the Fifty Shades series.

The couple were living in Canada when Dulcie was born, and speaking to the Belfast Telegraph following Dulcie’s birth, Jamie joked: “A lot of people would have had a [expletive] fit at 30-something weeks pregnant hearing, ‘Darling, we’re going to Vancouver this week for four months – we’re going to have a Canadian baby and I’m going to do a film where, for parts of it, I will be naked.’ That’s a tough pitch but my wife is an incredible person.”

The proud parents have shared several glimpses into Dulcie’s birthday parties as she’s grown up, including an adorable Winnie the Pooh-themed one, where Jamie even dressed up as Tigger.

Elva was born in early 2016, with Jamie having to leave his family just 10 days after his second daughter was born in order to continue with his filming commitments.

Later that year, the actor appeared on Live with Kelly and Ryan, where he was asked about being a dad to two kids. “It’s been a big adjustment and it’s definitely harder and you get less time to yourself, but human beings are very good at adaptation,” he said.

“You have to just go with it and accept less sleep and accept less time in your hands and accept less reading of books and washing and all the usual things you do in a day.”

The couple’s third daughter, Alberta, arrived ahead of Mother’s Day in 2019, with Amelia using the occasion to confirm the arrival of their new baby. ” So proud of these three glorious girls, it’s an honour being their mummy, feeling incredibly lucky today,” she said in a since-deleted post.

Following Alberta’s birth, Jamie was able to stay with his growing family and was able to “take proper time off for a few months after”.
