Matt Damon looked suave as he arrived at the TAB Golden Slipper event at Rosehill Gardens in Sydney on Sunday, March 22. The star rocked a navy suit, yellow tie and dark sunglasses at the stylish soirée, complete with a neatly groomed salt and pepper beard and gray hair.

Matt attended the horse racing event as an Australian Turf Club member to watch his horse, Are You Kidding, take to the course. Unfortunately, the animal had been scratched earlier in the week and could not race as a result, but that didn’t stop the Good Will Hunting star from enjoying his day out alongside his wife, Luciana Barroso.

Fans took to social media to share their love for Matt’s salt and pepper hair, with one writing: “This is the best he ever has looked,” while another added: “He’s such a handsome guy,” and a third chimed in: “Soooo handsome! Love the hair and the beard! Sexy silver fox!!”

The father of four is no stranger to rocking the gray, and told People that his hair changed color earlier than expected. “I do have the salt and pepper,” he said in 2012. “The last movie that I had my hair was We Bought a Zoo, but they dyed the gray out for that. The studio was like, ‘No gray hair.’ And I was like, ‘I like my gray hair, I’m proud of it.'”

“I like to say to my daughters…I point out all the gray and I’m like, ‘You did this, and you did this, and you did this,'” he added. “They really think it’s funny.”

Matt is an avid horse racing fan and part-owner of the thoroughbred Are You Kidding alongside Australian actor Daniel MacPherson and several others. He is also the part-owner of the thoroughbred Dale, along with his daughter, Isabella.

“It’s a bit of a long story, really,” he said. “It was a late night over in LA, and I get a phone call saying we’ve had this great idea and we want to buy a horse, but the stipulation is it must be called Dale.”

“The story goes that basically Matt and his daughter bonded during her teenage years watching the movie Step Brothers, starring the two characters Dale and Brennan,” he added.

Matt’s presence in Australia is not unusual, as he and his family often frequent the southern continent.

The family visit Australia as often as possible

“After my dad died, we moved down there for four months and just went and camped all over the place,” he told News.com.au. “And just…I think because maybe he had never been, and it just felt like a place to go to make memories with my kids.”

“Then every year we would return, even back during the pandemic. We were down there for about six months, and it’s just like a second home to us,” he continued. “We just love it, and we love the people and everything about it. We just have so many friends down there, honestly. I mean, 30, 40 people. Family, friends, just so many people that we love to go see.”
