“Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Mary Cosby’s son, Robert Cosby Jr., has been released from Salt Lake County Metro Jail after serving two months behind bars.
Robert Jr.’s attorney, Clayton Simms, exclusively tells Page Six the reality star was released on Tuesday and considers his time in jail to be “a blessing.”
“It allowed him to sober up and start thinking clearly. He’s looking forward to doing positive things. The difficulty is that he was slow to recognize the dissolution of his marriage. But now he understands the relationship is over, and he’s moving forward,” Simms said.
As part of his release, Robert Jr. was ordered to complete 24 months probation and 75 hours community service, and he is expected to attend anger management and substance abuse classes.
A judge also granted a permanent no-contact order for Robert Jr.’s ex-wife, Alexiana Smokoff, who filed for divorce on Nov. 24, 2025 after three years of marriage.
The 23-year-old, who has publicly struggled with drug and alcohol addiction, was arrested on Nov. 9, 2025 after he was involved in an incident involving Smokoff and his father-in-law, Shad Stoke.
He was charged with violation of a pretrial protective order, criminal trespassing, property damage/destruction, assault on peace officer or military member in uniform and failure to stop at the command of law enforcement.
In December 2025, he pleaded guilty to eight charges: One count of felony property damage or destruction greater than or equal to $5,000; two counts of violation of a pretrial protective order obtained by Smokoff; one count of assault on a peace officer; one count of violation of a jail release court order; two counts of criminal trespass on a dwelling with intent to cause annoyance, injury, or fear; and one count of Class B misdemeanor assault.
He also faced an additional six misdemeanor charges that were dismissed with prejudice.
At the time, Robert Jr.’s attorney told People that his client’s legal troubles stemmed from him having trouble accepting his marriage to Smokoff was over.
“His parents were his example and they’ve been married for 27 years,” his attorney said, referencing Mary’s marriage to Robert Sr., who serves as a bishop at the Faith Temple Pentecostal Church.
“Robert was slow to recognize and accept his marriage was over and continued to connect with his soon-to-be ex-wife. Robert has accepted responsibility for his mistakes and has pleaded guilty to several misdemeanors,” Simms continued.
Prior to his November arrest, Robert Jr. was arrested last September after he allegedly attempted to climb through a dog door to break into his father-in-law’s home.
He also allegedly assaulted someone on the front lawn and failed to comply with responding officers.
