Martha Stewart was forced to push touchy Drew Barrymore away from her after the talk show host oddly caressed Stewarts’ back for several seconds.
The “E.T.” star got touchy-feely with the “Martha: The Cookbook” author on Tuesday’s episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show,” as they were discussing what made Stewart “soft and gooey” on the inside.
“Treatment,” Stewart responded, as Barrymore flirtatiously clarified, “When you’re treated like a lady.”
Stewart, 83, uncomfortably looked at the audience before pushing away the “Never Been Kissed” star and saying, “You’re the wrong gender.”
Barrymore, 49, dramatically collapsed backward on the couch and said, “I know … Although, the way it’s going with men, though, Martha, I’m not so sure anymore.”
The “50 First Dates” star is notoriously known for being overly touchy with her guests and was referred to as “cringy” when she tightly held Oprah Winfrey’s hand last December.
A clip of the interaction saw the media mogul and Barrymore sitting close together and discussing the importance of studio audiences.
Barrymore had a tight grip on Winfrey’s hand, while her other hand caressed the “Color Purple” star’s arm.
“She’s really creeping me out now. It’s just to [sic] weird,” one critic wrote on social media about the interaction, and another added, “Drew is too overbearing and cringy.”
Winfrey, however, defended Barrymore days after her talk show appearance.
“I was actually comforted by the stroking of the arm,” the legendary TV personality told TMZ. “I was not uncomfortable at all.”
The “Charlie’s Angels” star, meanwhile, defended her intense interview style in August, telling “Entertainment Tonight” that “physical distance” isn’t her “strong point.”
“First of all, we’re always going to be big on joy and laughter and feeling good,” she shared. “That was something that I always wanted to do but I never thought we would launch in a pandemic.
“And trying to lean into the joy and the feel good comedy at that time was real weird and wacky,” Barrymore continued. “Do you know how hard the pandemic was for me? I was alone in a studio by myself. I like to be around people.”
Barrymore quipped that she’s “not everyone’s favorite.”
