Welcome to The Blueprint, where we break down the celebrity looks we want to wear right now and build them back up, piece by piece.
Martha Stewart is living her best life during New York Fashion Week.
On February 10, the 83-year-old entrepreneur attended the Tory Burch show, and, per usual, her ’fit was at the top of the fashion game. She wore a ritzy tie-neck blouse and breezy pants with an embellished coat on top and ditched her signature Skechers for an impressive pair of chunky heels. She topped off the look with a Bandolier phone case, which she told PEOPLE she uses “all the time.”
Everything about the look was nice-looking and thought-out: The coat provided the warmth, the pants provided the comfort, and the heels provided the polish. And as one, the outfit is about to become my new fallback for nights out.
Martha Stewart’s Outfit Blueprint
J. Crew Removable Tie-Neck Button-Up Shirt
Tie-necks add a feminine finish to any top, and they’re useful for covering your neck, like with a scarf, when it’s cold. And Stewart isn’t the only star turning to this pretty style: Kate Middleton, Jennifer Lopez, and Meryl Streep have been wearing them, too.
This J.Crew button-up comes with a removable tie, giving you the option to highlight its cute Peter Pan collar. Choose from four colors, including trending cheetah print.
Old Navy High-Waisted Satin Super Wide-Leg Pants
Stewart’s ’fit looked like a silky matching set, but you can mix and match wide-leg pants and tie-neck tops and still look put-together. I’m most intrigued by the fit of her pants, which were anti-clingy and flattering. This pair has a similar satin luster and they “look and feel very high-end,” according to one shopper. And a second noted, “They look very expensive and yet feel as comfortable as pajamas.”
Söfft Liv Slingback Platform Sandal
Like Stewarts’ high fashion heels, this style from Nordstrom has a platform and peep toe, but on a very walkable 2.75-inch block heel. Slingbacks are snug and secure thanks to the strap that wraps around the ankle, and this pair has an adjustable buckle for an even better fit. A block heel is also thick and wide, so you won’t feel like you’re hobbling around shakily. Plus, a slingback is breezy and seasonal for spring.
Bandolier Donna Crossbody Phone Case
Finally, this look wouldn’t be complete without a Bandolier phone case. Stewart sported the Donna crossbody case, which comes complete with gold hardware, a compartment to stash your valuable cards, and a long strap that you can wear on your shoulder or across your chest. In the past, we’ve seen her with the jazzy Crystal wristlet phone case from the brand. Both are useful for traveling or nights when you want to go purse-free.
