Mark Wahlberg is beefing up.
The actor updated fans on his fitness journey in a Friday, April 4 Instagram post, where he stripped down to a pair of swim trunks that he admitted were a little too snug for his post-weight gain bod.
“I realize now that I’m bulking [up], this s—‘s too tight for me. This fit nice and loose at Christmas, my swimsuit,” a shirtless Wahlberg, 53, said before hopping into a cold plunge.
He captioned the video, “When you realize your shorts don’t fit anymore after three months of eating like a crazy person.”
From showing off his intense workout routines to revealing what he eats in a day, the Oscar nominee has not shied away from keeping fans in the loop on how he’s been working hard to get in shape.
In an Instagram video shared on Friday, March 28, the Flight Risk star said his new goal was to go from weighing 205 pounds to 215 pounds.

Back in 2022 Wahlberg underwent another 360 body change, but this time for his role in Father Stu, a movie in which he played a boxer-turned-priest. Speaking on the Australian Kyle & Jackie O radio show, he revealed that he had a “difficult” experience putting on pounds for the role.
“I would say it’s easier to stay in shape than it is to get in shape,” he said, further explaining that he put on 30 pounds.
During his previous appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, he said that working towards the weight gain was “fun for about an hour.”
“Unfortunately, I had to consume, for two weeks, 7,000 calories, and then for another two weeks, 11,000 calories,” he shared. “It’s such a hard, physical thing to do. Losing weight, you just kind of tough it out, you just don’t eat and exercise.” But this time, he said, he was “eating every three hours.”
Wahlberg also noted that having his weight fluctuate for a film, which he’s done many times before, has become harder with age.
“Once the metabolism starts to slow down, it gets really difficult. I was trying to get this movie made for six years, we only had 30 days to shoot it, and so I wanted to really make it happen,” he said. “And [I] was also crazy to have financed a lot of it myself. So I knew I was on a ticking clock on my own dime, and you get things done pretty quickly when that’s the case.”

In 2021, he emphasized how stark the transformation had been with photos taken three weeks part from each other.
