With “Wuthering Heights” burning up the box office, Margot Robbie has been a busy bee.
And while the actress’ press tour looks included plenty of corseted couture, the beauty products she wears in the film — like Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm — are far more accessible.
The film’s head makeup artist, Siân Miller, told Allure she relied on the $6 beauty buy on set to avoid noticeable lip lines.
The hydrating, “your lips but better” formula happens to be one of Robbie’s longtime favorites in real life, too; she even name-checked it in a 2016 Harper’s Bazaar interview.
“I don’t like wearing lipstick because I get it all over my face, so I wear lip balm with a bit of a stain, like Burt’s Bees,” she said at the time.
The drugstore find isn’t the only pout product Robbie wears in the new gothic romance film, however. When her character, Cathy, moves to the luxe Thrushcross Grange, she upgrades her lip look with Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk, a longtime Hollywood favorite.
Miller’s makeup arsenal also included plenty of blushes, including Pat McGrath Divine Cream Blush, Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush in the shades Hope and Happy and Merit Flush Balm in Après and Postmodern for Robbie’s scenes at the Grange.
“With Cathy, I was inspired by the ‘pomegranate girl’ TikTok trend of 2024; that clean, flushed look,” she explained.
For her more “weather-beaten” flushed cheeks earlier in the film, the beauty pro created a more subtle sheen with No.1 de Chanel Lip and Cheek Balm. (“The expression, the first flush of youth, that’s where that comes from, that adolescence kind of flush,” Miller added in a Glamour interview.)
For Isabella (Alison Oliver), she opted for Kylie Cosmetics Hybrid Blush in Winter Flush for a more baby-doll pink finish.
“Sometimes hair and makeup is misunderstood in terms of what it can bring to a character and the approach,” Miller explained. “But I hope it’s really helped to tell the story.”
