Remi Bader is getting real.
The 30-year-old influencer showed her loose skin and scarring from her weight-loss surgery in a candid Instagram video Sunday.
While wearing a gray-blue bikini, Bader explained a realization she had while preparing for an upcoming trip to Miami.
“I’ve been a little — not a little — I’ve been completely in denial of what my size is now for a long time,” she said. “I need to get rid of a lot of things in my closet and get new things because I don’t even have underwear that fits me normally at this point.”
The social media personality, who has 2.2 million followers on TikTok, went on to address the backlash she received for initially keeping the details of her 2023 bariatric surgery private.
“I know there’s a lot of chatter that I probably got skin removal surgery, too. I did not,” she clarified. “I kind of want to see where my body ends up, I guess, before I do anything.”
A makeup-free Bader then showed her stretch marks, explaining that she had gained and then lost the most weight on her stomach.
“People are like, ‘Oh, she has no loose skin. How is that possible?’ One, I’m young. Two, I do have loose skin,” she said after pointing out her scars.
After months of speculation, the model finally confirmed during a March 26 interview with Self that she had undergone surgery while discussing her ongoing issues with her appearance.
“I’m still uncomfortable. I’ve never looked like this. I’ve never felt this way. I’ve never been this size,” she told the magazine. “So when people comment now, ‘Tiny, skinny. Oh my God, your legs, your arms, this, this,’ that’s really triggering for me.”
Despite her rise to fame as a curve model and continued support for size inclusivity, Bader told her Instagram followers in Sunday’s video that she does not want to be a weight-loss or surgery advocate.
“This is my body. That is that,” she said, spinning around to show off her figure.
