Jennifer Lopez confessed she feels a little heartbroken about becoming an empty nester now that her twins, Max and Oskar Muñiz, are away at college.
On Friday, the “Office Romance” star, 57, appeared on Instagram Stories, sans makeup, chatting while applying skincare.
“I’m sitting here, being an empty nester and crying and thinking about them, and looking at baby pictures of them, and all that stuff, adding that she’s “so excited for them to step into this new era.”
Lopez, who shares the 18-year-old twins with ex-husband Marc Anthony, explained that she began thinking about her daily routines because her kids are off to college.
“Those routines are the things that are going to keep me kind of sane, working out, doing my skincare routine, caring for myself, with the newfound kind of space that’s in your life.”
This summer, the “Let’s Get Loud” singer took the teens on a road trip to Italy.
“Road tripping with my coconuts before they head off to college 😭,” she captioned a carousel of photos from their holiday.
Their celebratory trip came after the twins graduated from high school.
The actress attended her kids’ separate graduation ceremonies.
In photos obtained by Page Six, Lopez was seen wiping away her tears while watching Max graduate in June.
The performer was joined by her parents, Guadalupe Rodríguez and David Lopez, manager Benny Medina and Oskar.
In May, the family attended Oskar’s graduation, with Ben Affleck’s son Samuel, 14, who was also present to cheer on his former step-sibling.
As for the teens’ college plans, Oskar is studying theater and studio arts at Sarah Lawrence College.
Max’s college has not been revealed but Lopez previously shared that both her kids “got into all five colleges that they applied to” while speaking to Extra in June.
“I am so proud that they set goals for themselves,” she told the outlet.
