Madonna recreates iconic Like a Virgin wedding look 42 years later

Madonna has created many unforgettable looks throughout her career, but arguably none are as iconic as those of her ‘Like a Virgin’ era.

The 67-year-old has paid homage to her 1984 hit in a new ad campaign for Dolce & Gabbana, wearing some sizzling bridal lingerie while singing “La Bambola” by Patty Pravo to a small crowd in Milan, Italy.

Madonna looks incredible in the black-and-white film, rocking a white corset with lace and satin cups, lace hot pants with corset-style detailing on the back, fishnet tights, white stilettos, long lace gloves, and a floor-sweeping veil.

The singer later shared color photos from the shoot on Instagram, captioning them: “Una Notte D’amore,” which translates to “a night of love.”

Her followers were left in awe by her appearance, with many commenting with red heart emojis. 

One referenced the lyrics to “Like a Virgin,” writing: “She made it through the wilderness… to Milan!” Another gushed: “Oh, my QUEEN and beautiful bride!”

Among the photos shared by Madonna from the set is one of her and her boyfriend, Akeem Morris, 29, who looks like a dapper groom in a black tux and white shirt while gazing adoringly at Madonna.

Madonna has been married twice before. She tied the knot with actor Sean Penn in 1985 after six months of dating, but they divorced four years later in 1989. In 2000, she married director Guy Ritchie in Scotland. They divorced in 2008.

She and Akeem met in August 2022 when they starred in a photoshoot for Paper Magazine. However, they were not romantically linked until July 2024 after Madonna posted photos of them cuddling on social media.

They reportedly briefly split in October 2024, before rekindling their relationship and sparking engagement rumors when Madonna showed off a huge diamond ring last January and admitted she is ready for “more love.”

Madonna is no stranger to dating younger men. She was in a relationship with New York City-based heavyweight boxer and coach Joshua Popper, who was 29 at the time.

Before Joshua, Madonna was in a three-year relationship with backup dancer Ahlamalik Williams, who was 35 years her junior, but they split in April 2022.

She was in a relationship with then-26-year-old personal trainer Timor Steffens in 2014. She also dated French dancer Brahim Zaibat for three years before they parted ways at the end of 2013, and before that, she dated Brazilian model and DJ, Jesus Luz, whom she met on a photoshoot.

Madonna previously opened up about her dating choices, saying in 2012: “I didn’t choose to, you know, I didn’t write down on a piece of paper, ‘I’m going to have a relationship with a younger man.”

She added: “I’ve never really lived a conventional life, so I think it’s quite foolish for me or anyone else to start thinking that I am going to start making conventional choices.”
