Luigi Mangione has retained Harvey Weinstein’s prison consultant Craig Rothfeld, sources tell Page Six.

Rothfeld previously spent time in prison for white-collar crimes, and had become a top consultant.

In a 2020 interview, he told NBC of his clients, “Often, I tell people you’re going into a Byzantine black hole.”

Rothfeld said of the disgraced movie mogul after he was convicted for felony sex crimes: “I’m talking to him about the first 90 days . . . They’re very dark. They’re very uncomfortable because you’re on buses in handcuffs and leg shackles. You can’t get packages. It’s very scary. What it will be like for him is — you’re powerless.”

Weinstein won an appeal, but is still facing a retrial, and has faced serious health woes behind bars, and Rothfeld has been Weinstein’s authorized legal health care representative in New York.

Page Six previously reported that Mangione, who’s currently being held at the notorious Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, will wind up on the same floor as another famous inmate, disgraced hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is awaiting trial on sex trafficking, racketeering and other charges.

Mangione is accused of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson on Dec. 4. He has pleaded not guilty and Rothfeld was reportedly at his hearing last week, according to NBC News.

Weinstein, 72, has been hospitalized a handful of times in recent months following a number of ailments, including emergency heart surgery, diabetes, spinal stenosis and a cancer diagnosis.

His lawyers and reps have previously complained about his medical care in custody and even hit New York with a $5 million legal claim for alleged medical negligence.

“Mr. Weinstein, who is suffering from a number of illnesses, including leukemia, has been deprived the medical attention that someone in his medical state deserves, prisoner or not,” his spokesperson Juda Engelmayer said.
