The Grimaldi family was spotted this weekend at the Monte Carlo tennis tournament, the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters 2016, an ATP Masters 1000 event held at the Monte-Carlo Country Club on Sunday in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin.
In addition to Prince Albert and his wife, Princess Charlene, the Monegasque monarch was accompanied by many of his nephews and nieces, including Charlotte Casiraghi, who was very affectionate with her boyfriend, Nicolas Mathieu, in what was their official debut as a couple with his teenage son.
Alexandra of Hanover and her boyfriend, Ben-Sylvester Strautmann, were also seen showing affection, as were Louis and Marie Ducruet and Pauline Ducruet, who took pride of place in the stands together.
Public display of affection
Princess Stéphanie of Monaco’s son and his wife, who wore a white ensemble, were very affectionate in the stands. They exchanged glances and whispered secrets, and Louis gave her a tender kiss on the head.
Marie surprised onlookers by displaying a bandaged left hand. The entire Grimaldi family appeared fully engaged with this tournament, which also proved that love is in the air between Prince Albert’s nephews and nieces.
This time, Louis and Marie decided to leave their daughters at home. Victoire, who just turned three, celebrated her birthday first in the privacy of their home, and later with an unforgettable day with some of her friends.
Louis also paid his own special tribute to his eldest daughter with a photograph taken at home, in which the little girl is blowing out a makeshift birthday candle. “Happy birthday to the love of my life! You’re three years old now! ”
Since getting married and having his daughters, Louis has shown himself to be a father deeply involved in raising his girls and has decided to offer them as normal a childhood as possible within the unique circumstances of being part of the Grimaldi family.
Close-knit family
Louis and Marie married in Monaco Cathedral in July 2019 and had always expressed their desire to start a family. That dream came true four years later, with the arrival of little Victorie, who quickly became the center of attention and made Princess Stéphanie a grandmother for the first time.
A year and a half later, in December 2014, the couple welcomed their second child together. “Our family is growing again with the arrival of our little Constance,” they announced at the time. Thus, Victorie became a big sister before turning two. Constance’s first birthday was celebrated at the elegant Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo, a historic and privileged location overlooking the Principality’s harbor.
The image was repeated once again: a close-knit family, proud to share some of the most special milestones of their daily lives with the public.
Louis Ducruet has become a key figure in the Grimaldi family in recent times after years in the shadows. He has positioned himself as a fundamental support for his uncle, the monarch, and his presence is indispensable at public events in the Principality.
He has managed to start a family and raise his daughters normally, while also playing an increasingly important institutional role. He and his wife were present at the Pope’s visit to Monaco a few days ago.
