Sydney Sweeney has a lengthy list of ideal attributes in a partner — and Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua believes that he fits the bill.
“[My type is] athletic and outgoing and funny,” Sweeney, 28, told Cosmopolitan in a Thursday, January 29, cover story. “I’m a sporty girl, so someone needs to be able to climb a mountain with me, go skydiving with me. And someone who loves their family. I love myself a man.”
Complex subsequently tweeted Sweeney’s quote, which caught the attention of Nacua, 24.
“Love skydiving,” Nacua coyly retweeted, perhaps signaling his romantic interest in the actress.
The NFL star was most recently in a relationship with Hallie Aiono, with whom he shares son Kingston, before the pair called it quits in 2025.
As for Sweeney, she also went through a breakup last year. (Us Weekly broke the news in March 2025 that Sweeney called off her engagement to Jonathan Davino.)
“I was in a relationship for a very long time, for seven and a half years, and I never talked about it,” the Euphoria star told Cosmopolitan, reflecting on her failed engagement. “I was very private. No one would ever see us. I think it’s important to have some things for myself. I understand that I’m a public person, but I’m still in my 20s. I’m still figuring out love, and it’s hard to do that with millions of people who have their own opinions of what that looks like.”
She continued, “At the same time, for all of my 20s, I put my head down and focused on work — and now I want to experience things. It’s hard deciding that I want to experience love in the public eye. I’m just navigating it all.”
As Sweeney dived back into the dating scene, she further acknowledged that she doesn’t “actually need a man” in her life.
“I am a boss in my life. I take control. I go after what I want. I am confident, and I am successful, and I don’t actually need a man. I’ve got myself,” the Syrn founder stated. “I’ve got a team of bada** women. That is very intimidating to a lot of guys, so a guy needs to be able to stand in that with me. It takes a very specific person who can handle the world that comes with me.”
While Sweeney played coy about whether she currently has a beau, she’s recently been getting to know Scooter Braun.
“Things are getting serious and it’s very real,” a source exclusively told Us in November 2025. “Neither of them expected it to turn into something serious at first and are surprised by how genuine the connection has become.”
According to the insider, Braun, 44, has been “extremely supportive” of Sweeney’s busy career.
“That is one of the reasons why she is so drawn to him,” the source added. “He’s deeply interested in her career and life, and [he] often offers valuable perspective and guidance that she really appreciates.”
Braun was previously married to Yael Cohen from 2014 to 2022, during which period they welcomed three children.
