Lori Loughlin files for divorce from Mossimo Giannulli after 27 years of marriage

Lori Loughlin has officially filed for divorce from her husband of 27 years, Mossimo Giannulli, just over a year after they legally separated.

The Full House actress filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court on September 4, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the end of their marriage. 

In the filing, she listed the date of their separation as August 31, 2025, and referred to their prenup, which was initially signed in 1997 before their wedding and amended in 2015.

Lori asked that the properties, assets and debts be split as per the prenup, and requested spousal support to be determined at a later date. Additionally, she asked that Mossimo cover her legal fees.

The 62-year-old shares her daughters Isabella Rose and Olivia Jade with Mossimo, whom she married in November 1997.

Her representative, Elizabeth Much, confirmed to People in October 2025 that Lori and Mossimo had parted ways. “They are living apart and taking a break from their marriage. There are no legal proceedings at this time,” she said.

College admissions scandal

Lori and Mossimo’s family life imploded in 2019 when it was revealed that they were involved in a major college admissions scandal that saw their daughters get accepted into the University of Southern California.

As per court documents, the former couple “agreed to pay bribes totaling $500,000 in exchange for having their two daughters designated as recruits to the USC crew team – despite the fact that they did not participate in crew – thereby facilitating their admission to USC.”

Lori served two months in federal prison in 2020 as a result, paid fines of $150,000 and completed 100 hours of community service. 

Meanwhile, Mossimo spent five months behind bars in 2021, paid a fine of $250,000 and completed 250 hours of community service.

Lori’s close friend and Full House co-star, John Stamos, accused Mossimo of being a “terrible narcissist” on the Good Guys podcast, and claimed that Lori “cleaned everything up” for her husband.

“I will never talk to him again,” he declared. “Whatever he did to her, it busted her up to the core. And she put up with a lot over the years for this guy. I know a lot, and I was by her side through a lot of it.”

Lori opened up about moving on from the major scandal in a 2024 interview with First For Women magazine. “I try to be a forgiving person. I’m not one to hold onto stuff. Stuff happens to everyone,” she said.

“We’ve all been in positions to ask for forgiveness, but to ask for it, you have to learn and know how to give forgiveness, too. My family wasn’t one to hold grudges. I didn’t grow up in a household where if you made a mistake, you weren’t forgiven.”

She continued: “No one is perfect; we all make mistakes. So I was always told to let stuff go. And I think for your own health, you have to let things go because you can’t hang on to negativity. Life’s too short.”
