Logan Lerman is not ruling out the possibility of a Percy Jackson multiverse moment.

Lerman, 33, starred as the titular demigod in the film adaptations of Rick Riordan’s bestselling novels more than a decade ago, and now that a whole new cast has taken on the mythological story for the Disney+ series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, he’s lending his support.

“I’ve spent some time with them,” Jackson told IMDb of the show’s cast, led by Walker Scobell, who plays Percy. “And you know, I would say Walker’s now like a friend. We talk and text from time to time.”

“They’re really a sweet group of kids, really talented and nice people,” he continued of Aryan Simhadri, who plays Grover and Leah Sava Jeffries who plays Annabeth.

Given his love for the new generation of the story, Lerman said he would “of course” be interested in making a cameo of sorts on the series.

“I mean, that hasn’t — no conversation’s happened. But I mean, yeah, why not.”

The We Were the Lucky Ones star previously said that he would not return for the series, though he said he was “excited” to see the adaptation unfold.

“Everything I’ve seen so far, peripherally, just about casting and how they’re doing it, and that Rick [Riordan] is running it, just makes me happy,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “It makes me happy for the fans and excited for this new generation to watch it.”

He felt, though, that the team behind the series “don’t want me in it” as they hadn’t “talked” to him about making a cameo. “I probably would’ve heard something by now. But either way, who cares? It’s awesome that they’re making it, and I’m excited to see them do it.”

When the series — which will explore each of the five books in its own season — was first announced in 2022, Scobell, who is now 16, told PEOPLE he had “not yet” heard from Lerman or any of the other cast members from the 2010 and 2013 films, but was “really” hoping he’d connect with them — Lerman in particular.

“That would be really cool,” he said. “I’d like to hear some advice from Logan Lerman. I really liked his Percy Jackson.”

“The show looks amazing, and I can’t wait to see you all crush it in your roles,” Happy Sad Confused podcast host Josh Horowitz said, reading from a message Lerman wrote. “You’re making a lot of people happy bringing these characters to life.”

Of Scobell, Lerman said, “I can’t imagine a better fit for Percy Jackson than Walker — you were so brilliant in The Adam Project.”

After the show premiered in 2023, Lerman surprised Scobell and the cast with a message of support, just like the young actor had been hoping for, as he predicted the series would be a “hit.”
