Lily Collins suffered a horrific moment in 2023 when her engagement ring and other pieces of wedding jewellery were swiped from the West Hollywood EDITION hotel spa where she was staying.
However, three years after the robbery, the Emily in Paris actress was reunited with the ring. Taking to Instagram on Friday, she posted: “So grateful to @joethejewelerchicago for helping recover my original engagement ring after it was stolen almost three years ago. Having this home means SO much to us. I’m still speechless it’s back on my finger.”
The star, who married film director Charlie McDowell in 2021, shared an image of herself to her Instagram Stories posing alongside the light-pink diamond band.
The post was reshared by the brand, with Joe also promising to tell his followers how he managed to recover the ring. On his Instagram Stories, he explained: “I’m feeling the good karma, I’m happy,” before saying he would share more of the story later.
The incident
Lily had been staying at the West Hollywood EDITION hotel spa in May 2023 when the robbery took place. At the time, there was no evidence of forced entry at the site where the actress’s belongings were kept.
Lily’s wedding and family
Speaking on her wedding day, Lily said: “I’ve never wanted to be someone’s someone more than I do yours, and now I get to be your wife. Never been happier. What started as a fairytale, is now my forever reality. I’ll never be able to properly describe how otherworldly this past weekend was, but magical is a pretty good place to start…”
Last year, the couple welcomed a daughter through surrogacy. Lily took to social media to share an adorable picture of the baby, wearing a onesie as she lay in a moses basket. The newborn wore a knitted cap covered in flowers, and the basket had a blanket on the side with her name embroidered on the side.
“Welcome to the center of our world Tove Jane McDowell,” she wrote at the time. “Words will never express our endless gratitude for our incredible surrogate and everyone who helped us along the way. We love you to the moon and back again.”
