Liam Payne’s girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, left Argentina just days before his tragic death.
On Monday, she posted a Tiktok video showing her traveling from the South American country back to her home state of Florida.
In the vlog, Cassidy said she “was so ready to leave” after spending two weeks there with the One Direction hitmaker, who stayed behind.
Cassidy said she and Payne were originally only planning to stay in Argentina for “five days” and she was excited to be back in her own bed.
“I was just like, I need to go home,” she said in the video, which documented her flight experience.
Cassidy didn’t reveal why Payne remained in Buenos Aires. The pair traveled to the city capital earlier this month to attend former bandmate Niall Horan’s Oct. 4 concert.
Payne died two days after Cassidy posted her TikTok. He was 31.
According to TMZ, the hitmaker fell from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room after “acting erratic” in the lobby.
He reportedly smashed his laptop and was escorted back to his room. However, around 5 p.m. local time, Payne reportedly fell from his balcony, sustaining “extremely serious” — and ultimately fatal — injuries.
Although police said Payne may have been “under the influence of drugs or alcohol” at the time, i’s unclear whether his fall was intentional or accidental.
The investigation is ongoing.
Although Cassidy seemingly left the country over the weekend, Payne posted photos and videos with the influencer on his Snapchat Story just hours before his death.
In one of the eerie snaps, the “Strip That Down” singer told fans he was having a “lovely day” on vacation.
He also posted a selfie of him and Cassidy, captioned, “Quality time 🥰.”
It’s unclear when the content was taken as Cassidy was clearly not in Argentina at the time of Payne’s death.
Cassidy and Payne were first linked in October 2022 following his messy breakup from Maya Henry.
The pair made their red carpet debut just one month later at the British Fashion Awards, where they matched in black.
Cassidy later joined Payne at the premiere of former bandmate Louis Tomlinson’s “All of Those Voices.”
Despite reports the pair split in May 2023, they were spotted holding hands the following month.
