Dominick Carisi is used to appearing in court as a prosecutor — just not as their witness.

In PEOPLE’s exclusive sneak peek of the April 3 episode of Law & Order: SVU, A.D.A Dominick “Sonny” Carisi (Peter Scanavino) takes the stand in his trial against defendant Deonte Moseley (Keith Machekanyanga), the individual who held up Carisi and two young women in a bodega in the mid-season finale in November.

In the clip, Carisi clocks a smug Moseley sitting with his attorney as he exits the witness box.

“Wipe that smile off your face,” says Carisi. “You know what happened in that deli, and so do I!”

“Mr. Carisi!” the judge admonishes. “Mr. Carisi!”

“I saw you, Deonte,” says an exasperated Carisi. “I saw you!”

The judge then threatens to hold Carisi in contempt of court if he doesn’t get his behavior under control.

“Jury will disregard,” she instructs. “Mr. Carisi, you’re excused.”

As the camera pans to a concerned looking Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay), she can be seen following Carisi out of the courtroom alongside Carisi’s wife, Amanda Rollins (Kelli Giddish).

Season 26 of the NBC procedural premiered in October, while season 5 of the series’ spinoff show, Organized Crime, is set to kick off on April 17. The first episode will air on NBC, followed by the rest of the season on Peacock.

Also on April 17, SVU and Law & Order will launch a crossover event when a particular case brings the two units together as they “uncover a pattern of rape and murder targeting marginalized women,” per the network.

The fifth installment of OC, meanwhile, will see Det. Elliot Stabler’s “worlds collide” as he’s forced to “put everything on the line to protect the vulnerable and fight for justice.”
