Lauren Sánchez is subtly reacting to the chatter about her inauguration outfit.
The philanthropist and former news anchor, 55, “liked” multiple social media comments seemingly referencing the white suit with matching bustier she wore to President Donald Trump’s Jan. 20 inauguration.
Sánchez, who appeared at the event alongside her fiancé, Jeff Bezos, sported a monochromatic white ensemble by Alexander McQueen, featuring a tailored blazer and a lace corset. The unconventional look garnered some backlash from those who felt it was too risqué for the occasion.
On the evening of Jan. 20, Sánchez attended the Starlight Ball as part of the inauguration. For the affair, she wore a dramatic Dolce & Gabbana gown with a corset-style bodice and long, flowing sleeves.
The author and activist shared photos of the gown on Instagram, where in the comment section of the posts, users shared their thoughts on the all-white look she wore earlier that day.
Sánchez “liked” several supportive comments, such as one that read, “THAT GIRL 🔥 don’t let the haters bring you down! Only opinion that matters is your own and Jeff’s 💯.”
Another “liked” comment said, “I thought your inauguration outfit was very modern & classy you looked beautiful 💋.”
A third read, “Stunning! Every outfit so far is beyond the physical style but represents being true to yourself, bold, someone who takes risks, and confident in your own skin. More should embrace this.”
