A comedian, writer, and former late-night host has come out as gay on the final day of Pride month.
Amber Ruffin had been married to a man before finalizing her divorce only last December.Â
The Omaha, Nebraska, native took to Instagram to share the news on Sunday with her 360,000 followers with a pointed message directed specifically at haters.
âIn what will come as a shock to exactly zero people, Iâm using the last day of PRIDE to come out! Be proud of who you are, little babies! I know I am!â, Amber Ruffin wrote.
âAnd I canât wait to be discriminated against for a new reason!!â, the comedian joked, together with a series of gay pride rainbow flags and a picture of her in a tank top baring the word âQueerâ.

The well-known comicâs announcement out drew support from an array of proud Hollywood stars, including singer and actress Cynthi Erivo.  Â
