Lainey Wilson opened up about her close friendship with country superstar Keith Urban in an interview on the Australian Today show, revealing that she often turns to him for life and career advice.
The pair have collaborated on many occasions, like on their 2024 joint track “Go Home W U,” and their performance of her hit song “Ring Finger” at the Country Music Awards in November.
“Keith has given me some of the best advice, and every single time I talk to him, I pull out this little notebook on my phone, and I’m typing down everything he says, because I’m like this man is full of wisdom,” she shared in the interview.
“And clearly he has done something right, and it’s important to listen to people like Keith Urban, who have been there and done that.” The 33-year-old previously shared insight into their bond with 9Honey , explaining that he was “a good dude”.
“Keith Urban has become a dear friend and has given me some of the best advice. Every time I see him or run into him, he’s like, ‘Let me drop a load of wisdom on ya!'” she said.
“But I tell you what, every time I leave his presence, I’m like typing in my phone, ‘Keith Urban said this…’ He’s full of wisdom and has had such a long, incredible career. It’s clearly because of his talent and also because of who he is. He’s just a good dude, and he loves country music, his fans.”
“He gives it 190 per cent, he never [halves] anything, and that’s what I love about him,” she added. “He’s going to continue sharing his gift until he can’t share it no more.”

Keith’s personal life made headlines in recent months when he split from his longtime love, Nicole Kidman, in September 2025 after almost 20 years of marriage. The couple are parents to Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith, 15, and will share custody of the girls, with Nicole being the primary residential parent.
“The mother and father will behave with each other and each child so as to provide a loving, stable, consistent and nurturing relationship with the child even though they are divorced,” their divorce documents read. “They will not speak badly of each other or the members of the family of the other parent. They will encourage each child to continue to love the other parent and be comfortable in both families.”
Since the divorce, Nicole has been busy traveling the world with her daughters, and recently returned from a trip to Paris to see Sunday Rose walk the runway at Calvin Klein’s Fashion Week show. She also went on a “once-in-a-lifetime” trip to Antarctica with Sunday Rose, Faith, and her sister, Antonia Kidman.
Meanwhile, Lainey is still going strong with her former NFL player fiancé, Devlin Hodges, whom she began dating in 2021. The pair announced their engagement in February 2025, and the “4x4xU” singer shared with People that they were in no rush to wed.
“I need to go dress shopping, or I need to talk to somebody about making a dress,” she said. “I need to go get fitted. How about that? That’s the first step.”
“Hopefully, when he sees me [walking down the aisle], he’ll be boohooing,” she added.
