Lady Gaga can’t wait to start a family.
The singer, 38, recently caught up with Access Hollywood ahead of the release of her new album, Mayhem. Less than one year after her engagement to entrepreneur Michael Polansky, Gaga shared that she hopes the next decade will see her become a mom.
“I really want to be a mom,” Gaga shared quietly, smiling. “The greatest vision I have is that.”

Gaga, who got engaged to Polansky in 2024 and has been romantically linked to him since 2020, has touched on the idea of motherhood before. In a cover interview for Elle in January, Gaga said she and Polansky have discussed starting a family together and that she’s “ready” to be humbled by the experience of motherhood.
Her parenting philosophy is already taking shape, too: she wants her kids to feel free to be themselves.
“That’s something Michael and I have talked about a lot — allowing our kids to be their own people. It’s such an intense thing for kids coming into the world,” she told Elle. “And they’re told how to think and what to believe in and how to eat … I just kind of want to let my kids find out who they are.”
In regards to her fame and success, Gaga said she hopes her future children understand “that I just did my best” and “tried to stay true to myself along the way.” But otherwise, Gaga wants them to form their own opinions on her career.
“I would want my children to understand that whatever my artistry means to them is totally up to them,” she said. “I would never actually want to shape it or tell them how to think about me.”
