Kyle Richards is addressing speculation that she and her ex Mauricio Umansky are getting back together after recent speculation that a reconciliation could be on the cards.
Appearing on the Thursday, January 29, episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 57, touched on the status of her relationship..
“Rumor had it over the holidays that you and Mau were canoodling and there were rumors that you were going to get back together. What’s your response?” Cohen, 57, asked Richards.
Richards replied, “It honestly was… someone just made that story up.”
In this week’s episode of RHOBH, Dorit Kemsley, 49, wondered if Richards hadn’t officially filed for divorce from Umansky yet because she was hoping the former couple might potentially reunite in future.
During her appearance on WWHL, Cohen asked Richards if she was any “closer to filing for divorce” from her estranged husband, 55, since that episode was filmed.
“We have had conversations that we had not had during this season since then,” Richards shared. “We still haven’t filed but we’ve had conversations since then about what it’s going to look like and all of that.”
Us Weekly confirmed in July 2023 that the pair had separated after 27 years of marriage.
“Kyle and Mauricio have been separated for a while, but are still currently living together,” a source told Us at the time, noting that the estranged spouses were “amicable while they figure out the next steps.”
After rumors swirled that the split was caused by infidelity, the pair issued a joint statement via social media in July 2023 denying there was any “wrongdoing” by either side.
“In regards to the news that came out about us today … Any claims regarding us divorcing are untrue. However, yes, we have had a rough year,” they said in a joint statement via Instagram at time. “The most challenging one of our marriage. But we both love and respect each other tremendously. There has been no wrongdoing on anyone’s part. Although we are in the public eye, we ask to be able to work through our issues privately.”
The duo met in 1994 and married in January 1996. Richards shares Alexia, 29, Sophia, 25, and Portia, 17, with Umansky. The real estate agent is also the stepfather of Richards’ eldest daughter, Farrah, 37, whom she welcomed with Guraish Aldjufrie in 1988.
After the pair were spotted on multiple occasions between Christmas and New Years, an insider clarified to Us where Richards and Umansky’s relationship currently stands.
“They are not getting back together or rekindling their romance,” the insider told Us earlier this month, adding that there is “still so much love between them.”
The insider added that Richards and Umansky are “in a really good place right now” more than two years after announcing their split.
Richards and Umansky’s four daughters were the main reason they were seen together throughout the holidays, the insider explained.
“Kyle and Mau have done a good job maintaining normalcy in front of the girls especially during the holiday season,” the source shared.
