King Charles has invited Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie to this year’s Royal Ascot, HELLO! can reveal.

The sisters, who are the daughters of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, appear to have been cast adrift from the rest of the royal family amid the fallout from their parents’ friendship with Jeffrey Epstein.

However, contrary to reports that the Princesses have been told they cannot attend this year’s Royal Ascot, HELLO! understands that they have been invited, and that senior members of the royal family have continued to check in on them.

The question is, would they want to go to a public event of that nature?” a friend of the sisters asked in this week’s cover story. “They will get criticism whether they go or not – and not just that event. They just can’t win. Bea has found the scrutiny very hard, especially the strain of the past few weeks. It has felt as though things have been in freefall, and she’s being hammered and bullied by commentators.

Senior members of the royal family typically attend the racing festival in Berkshire, which will be held this year from 16-20 June. One of the highlights is the official carriage procession, before the party makes their way to the Royal Enclosure to watch the action.

If they do attend, Beatrice and Eugenie will likely be joined by their husbands, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Jack Brooksbank, as in previous years.

Taking a step back from the public eye

The Princesses’ mother, Sarah Ferguson, has been in hiding since the latest release of Epstein files in January, while Andrew has been exiled to Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate.

Beatrice, 37, and Eugenie, 36, have also withdrawn from the public eye in recent weeks. On Monday, it was revealed that they will not be attending the royal family’s traditional service for Easter Sunday.

HELLO! understands that they have made alternative plans for Easter, in agreement with the King. However, they are still very much seen as part of the family and will be at future family celebrations.

The sisters also didn’t attend Cheltenham Racing Festival earlier this month, as they have in previous years, and Eugenie recently stepped down from her anti-slavery charity.

Beatrice has been dogged by rumours about her marriage to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, though friends of the couple denied there is any “distance” between them.

Both Beatrice and Eugenie attended the racing festival in 2025, with Beatrice and Edo joining Sarah Ferguson on the first day on 17 June.

Beatrice also attended on day three, while Eugenie and Jack were seen on days four and five.

Last year, the Princess of Wales unexpectedly pulled out of Royal Ascot at the last minute, as part of finding a balance between returning to duties and her cancer battle.
