There’s no bag lady like Kimora Lee Simmons.
The Baby Phat founder, 50, showed off her jaw-dropping handbag collection in a preview of Tuesday’s “Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane” finale, revealing she owns a staggering 698 designer bags.
“My name is Kimora and I am a hoarder — but a luxury hoarder,” the model declares in the clip promoting her E! reality show.
When asked how many bags she owns, Simmons initially lowballed the number. “Maybe like 100,” she said with a coy smile before correcting herself. “No, it’s probably hundreds.”
The actual count then flashed on screen: 698.
The fashion mogul’s collection includes dozens of Hermès Birkin and Kelly bags, including several candy-colored snakeskin and ostrich styles that can fetch upwards of $50,000 on the resale market, as well as a yellow, pink and orange Birkin Sunrise Rainbow Limited Edition bag currently available for $45,000.
There are shelves full of quilted Chanel flap bags, luggage by Goyard and Louis Vuitton, and some luxury sports gear: a 2019 Chanel rubber basketball with a leather chain strap ($7,500) and a Louis Vuitton 1998 World Cup Memorial soccer ball ($9,000).
“I have such good bags. I have vintage bags. I have bags they don’t even make anymore. I have bags that they’ve started to make again, that’s how good they are,” she explained as cameras panned across her meticulously organized closet.
The bags are sorted by color, style and designer — creating what Simmons calls “a good archive.” Her accessories collection also includes $1,200 worth of Fendi Monster Charms and $1,000 of Labubus.
“My girls will inherit a lot, but not yet,” she quipped. (Simmons is mom to Ming Lee Simmons, 25; Aoki Lee Simmons, 23; Kenzo Lee Hounsou, 16; Gary Lee, 16; Wolfe Lee Leissner, 10; and “bonus son” Jaden, 19.)
In the episode, daughter Ming popped into her mom’s closet looking to borrow a bag for a night out — a regular occurrence, according to the reality star.
“Ming loves to shop in my closet,” Kimora said in a confessional.
“She takes my bags, she takes things like earrings, rings,” she said, adding that Ming often gaslights her about whose items are whose. “She’ll always say, like, ‘that wasn’t yours.’”
The show has given viewers an inside look at Simmons’ fabulous life as she juggles motherhood, business ventures and family drama.
