The vibes are chill when Kim Kardashian and Kanye West reunite â for their kidsâ sake.
When the former coupleâs oldest daughter, North, 11, performed at the Hollywood Bowl in May as part of the Lion King concert event, Kim, 44, and Kanye, 47, were both by her side backstage as she geared up for the performance, which was documented on the Feb. 20 episode of The Kardashians.
North sang âI Just Canât Wait to Be Kingâ for the massive crowds â leading Kim to have a near-âheart attackâ backstage due to her nerves for her daughterâs sake â and while she was in the dressing room getting ready, Kanye was there with his ex-wife.
âHer dad has been involved and he came to rehearsal,â Kim said in a confessional of her ex, whom she divorced in 2021 after nearly seven years of marriage.
While he was there, Kanye asked whether it was possible to âchange the graphics,â to which Kim replied, âOf course, of course. And I just look at them and Iâm like, âIt will be a better production [if you take his notes].â
âKanye and I want the best for the kids,â she continued. âAnd so anytime weâre here supporting our child, itâs always good vibes.â
Before she went on stage, North stood in between her parents, holding both of their hands, as she was led in a prayer circle before her performance.
Afterward, both Kim and Kanye were there to celebrate her and the rapper told her she did âso goodâ after North admitted she was âpraying every secondâ during the song to be able to hit the notes she needed to.
Her siblings Chicago, 7, and Saint, 9, were also backstage after her performance, giving fans a rare inside look at Kim and Kanye co-parenting.
âItâs such a proud moment as a mom to see your child have so much fun and not be nervous at all,â Kim said of Northâs performance.
Co-parenting for the exes has been something of a hot-button issue since their 2021 split. In an earlier season of The Kardashians, as the rapper continued to air out his and Kimâs business on social media, Kim said, âI think at this point, I just assume everything I text Kanye is gonna be put on the internet.â
âEven through all of the craziness of everything that Kanye says about us, I never comment, I never post,â she said. âWe stay silent, we stay silent through all the lies. Even how he looks so down on me for my [sex] tape, brings it up all over town, all over the media. Like, thanks for reminding people once again.â
She said his actions would be âfar more damaging to the kids one day than my tape will ever be,â and added, âAnd I have to sit here and not say anything, ever, because I know one day my kids will appreciate that. And I know that is the best thing for them.â
In the nearly four years since her divorce, sheâs adjusted to being a single mom of four. (She and Kanye also share son Psalm, 5.)
A source told PEOPLE in October that sheâs âpretty much a single momâ as the rapper is âsadly not around very much.â
âAlthough she has help, itâs still a lot of work for her to balance and coordinate everything,â the source said, adding that sheâs âall about work and the kids.â
