Kim Kardashian is reportedly considering changing her custody agreement with ex-husband Kanye West after he released a song featuring their eldest child, daughter North West, without her approval.
According to TMZ, the âKardashiansâ star is seriously debating taking the hip-hop star â who now goes by Ye â to court to ask a judge to strip him of joint legal custody in light of the drama.
The exes, who wed in 2014, settled their divorce in 2022 and agreed to joint physical and legal custody of their four children: North, 11, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5.
Physical custody is reportedly not an issue as the âHeartlessâ rapper rarely sees his kids and Kardashian, 44, still wants them to have a good relationship with their father, per the outlet.
However, itâs a different story when it comes to decision-making for their brood.
The former coupleâs divorce agreement reportedly states that they must attend a private hearing with a judge in the event thereâs a conflict regarding their kids.
However, after this weekendâs debacle, it has become clear that the rapper, 47, refuses to abide by the rules of their agreement.
Kardashian requested an emergency hearing with their lawyers, a mediator and a judge after learning West was planning to drop a song featuring their eldest daughter, North, and embattled rapper Sean âDiddyâ Combs.
Although Ye skipped the meeting, he reportedly agreed not to release the track, titled âLonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine.â
However, Ye went back on his word and dropped the song on X one day later, declaring that men âmake the final decision.â
The âDondaâ rapper also shared a heated text exchange between himself and Kardashian, who made it clear she did not want their daughter involved with the jailed Bad Boy Records mogul.
Ye seemed furious about Kardashian sending him a cease-and-desist letter and trademarking their daughterâs name â despite it allegedly being a decision they made together.
âIâm never speaking with you again,â he allegedly texted his ex-wife in the since-deleted upload.
However, Kardashian claimed they had âagreedâ to trademark all their kidsâ names âwhen they were bornâ so that âno one else would take them.â
âI asked you at the time if I can trademark her name. You said yes. When sheâs 18, it goes to her. So stop,â she purportedly replied.
âI sent paperwork over so she wouldnât be in the Diddy song to protect her.â
Ye asked her to âamendâ the legal papers or risk âgoing to war.â
âAnd neither of us will recover from the public fallout,â he threatened, adding, âYouâre going to have to kill me.â
Soon after, he went on a lengthy X rant, accusing the âKardashian mobâ of restricting his parenting abilities and comparing their current custody agreement to âvisitationâ in âjail.â
However, an insider told Page Six that the Skkn founder is just trying to do what is best for her children.
âKimâs priority is the well-being and safety of her children and to protect them from being around Kanyeâs controversial behavior,â a source told us over the weekend.
