Kim Cattrall and husband Russell Thomas make first appearance since secret wedding

Kim Cattrall and her husband Russell Thomas have made their first public appearance since quietly tying the knot, stepping out together in style at the Conner Ives show during London Fashion Week.

The Sex and the City star, 69, was photographed arriving at the exclusive presentation held inside Claridge’s Hotel, where fashion insiders, celebrities and industry tastemakers gathered to celebrate one of London’s most exciting designers.

Looking effortlessly chic, Kim embraced understated glamour in a sleek black midi dress layered beneath a statement satin coat embroidered with delicate floral detailing. The luxurious piece featured plush cream fur trim at the collar and cuffs, lending a timeless, cinematic elegance perfectly suited to the iconic Mayfair setting.

She paired the look with pointed black leather boots and a sculptural gold statement belt, while her softly styled blonde hair fell naturally around her shoulders. Her glowing complexion and minimal makeup allowed her signature confidence to shine through as she greeted guests ahead of the runway show.

Russell, 54, complemented his wife’s sophisticated aesthetic in an all-black ensemble consisting of a tailored jacket worn over a classic roll-neck and slim trousers. The BBC audio producer opted for refined simplicity, creating a polished and coordinated appearance beside his newlywed wife.

The couple were seen seated front row at the Conner Ives presentation, sharing affectionate smiles and relaxed conversation throughout the evening. In several moments captured before the show began, Russell leaned close to Kim as they chatted with fellow guests, offering a rare glimpse into their famously private relationship.

Their appearance marks the first time the pair have been photographed together since reports emerged that they had married in an intimate ceremony away from public attention late last year. True to form, Kim chose not to publicly announce the milestone, instead allowing the moment to remain personal.

Kim and Russell, an audio engineer, were first introduced nearly a decade ago at the BBC in London, when Kim appeared on Woman’s Hour to record an essay on insomnia. 

The audio engineer was Russell, who Kim said struck her as “just lovely”. After following each other on Twitter, now X, Russell directly messaged Kim and the pair stayed in touch. The audio engineer even flew out to her home in Canada to visit the actress. 

“It was really gradual with Russ,” the actress told The Times in 2023. “Our lives were so separate and so different.” She also told The Times earlier this year that: “[Russell] was an actor originally. He’s had an incredibly interesting life and really done it on his terms. He’s a bit of a rebel, which I love.”

The couple, who divide their time between New York, Vancouver Island and the UK, like to start the day with a very British ritual. “We have tea together every morning, and after lunch usually another cup to get through the day,” said Kim. “It’s hot water over a tea bag, with milk, no sugar and exactly the right temperature. It’s very British!”
